May 13Reply

alexi_a_Thank you for the tip after you had warned me this happens to me. If I wasn't for you informing me I wouldn't have known it was a scam

May 14Reply

tauna66@alexi_a_ so happy I was able to intervene in time. I noticed you liked three things make me an offer for all three items and their yours I can bundle them for you and you would pay one shipping cost I always include a free gift as well 😁

May 15Reply

vonyettaI've had these people pester me on the more high end stuff I've listed. Yep, beware poshers!

May 15Reply

tauna66@vonyetta Thank your for sharing. 💕🦋

May 16Reply

vonyettaThank you as well!! Ad thanks for calling out the scammers!!

May 16Reply

tauna66@vonyetta I try and bite my young. But it slips once in awhile. I just hate seeing our poshers getting scammed. I've been very proactive with the newbies so they don't loose their items. It's scary because they give them their personal info address for pickup. I'd hate to think what could happen if they had multiple things of value. Danger alert 🚨

May 16Reply

vonyettaI know. I've seen them popping up more and more. Seems like everyday I see a "kindly email me" comment. Terrible.

May 16Reply

tauna66@vonyetta I know their like little cockroaches you can't get rid of them and they keep multiplying😩

May 16Reply

tauna66When I first seen the @email request on other post I knew they were scammers. So out of curiosity I responded to one from someone's page my subject was LV bag mind you I don't even have one posted I asked how many I help you. I instantly got a reply back with a long email of directions they would send me a certified check and pick up that item

May 16Reply

deedee_barrThis has been happening to me a lot lately! Thank goodness that Posh takes these off almost immediately! I fell for it once! DID NOT SELL TO THIS PERSON THOUGH!!

May 16Reply

tauna66@deedee_barr thank goodness you didn't loose your product or have to pay back the back for a fraudulent check

May 16Reply

deedee_barrOh I know! Right? I'm ALWAYS careful! So many dishonest people! Thankfully, I think that most fellow Poshers are good and honest people. 😊

May 16Reply

tauna66@deedee_barr I agree, majority of our pastors are awesome and honest. As long as you do your transactions through the app you're safe and if it happens that the seller doesn't send your item at least you don't lose your money 💰

May 16Reply

tauna66Pastor. Lol meant poshers lol 😂

May 16Reply

deedee_barrABSOLUTELY!! 👏🏻👏🏻

May 16Reply

tauna66@queequegbowman the scam is they get you to reply to their email they offer you usually more than your asking price they get your address send you a counterfeit certified check and tell you someone will pick up your item from the address you provided

May 17Reply

tauna66@queequegbowman The counterfeit check that you cash the bank doesn't pick upon it for at least a month if you spend the money you owe the bank and you without your product as well so please never reply to emails or text messages use your offer to help only

May 17Reply

tauna66@queequegbowman refer all buyers to your offer tab. You could also loose your items by excepting trades with private sells only trade using the app. Serious buyers won't have a problem using your offer tab.

May 17Reply

tauna66@queequegbowman you're welcome 😊 please share post to all your followers. Thank you.

May 17Reply

tauna66@_claudiamagana you're welcome 😊

tatem17I've gotten so many of these!! So annoying! Thanks for posting this to warn potential victims!

Jun 04Reply

tauna66@tatem17 you're most welcome. Thank you for sharing the post. 💕🦋

Jun 04Reply

poshnshopIt's so annoying, every time I post a listing their on it within seconds. And they are getting more creative.

Jun 05Reply

tauna66@poshnshop it is a so annoying, I intervened yesterday with a new posher wanting to know how to put her item not for sale that she wanted to do a trade. I looked at the account she was trading with and they were deleting all their items. Only kept profile pic of a baby sonogram sonogram. I told her not to do it. That account appeared to be sketchy. That with trading your not guaranteed to get your item that you're trading for.

Jun 05Reply

poshnshop@tauna66 The spammers I am getting have no listings. They just post a comment on my listing about getting in touch with them through email. And they literally do it within seconds of it being listed. Ughhhhh

Jun 05Reply

tauna66@poshnshop they must be trolling your new listings.

Jun 05Reply

tauna66@its_vanne 😊 thank you

Jun 05Reply

eatsleepknit@tauna66 . ..🙋‍♀️hello! this is very good advice for everyone 👍😉

Jun 10Reply

tauna66@eatsleepknit thank you, be sure to read the other scammers posting as well. They are using a new tactic along with the email and text requests.

Jun 10Reply

eatsleepknit@tauna66 . .. yup, i've had a few of those too! 👍

Jun 10Reply

tauna66@eatsleepknit please share postings to help spread the word. Thank you have a beautiful evening.

Jun 10Reply

katiecat11Ugh..good god that first msg is ridic- they didn't even try to sugarcoat it (or clean up the grammar- *English nerd alert, I'm critical of such things;). That's cool of you to warn people, hopefully it'll filter out the riffraff👌🏼

Jun 11Reply

tauna66@katiecat11 that's because they're not from the states are normally from Nigeria

Jun 11Reply

katiecat11@tauna66 Oh you're kidding..really? That makes me so mad- as if the 'regular' email scams aren't criminal enough, they have the nerve to try to bring it here. Grrrr. Im assuming Posh has been notified but prob can't do much. I'm sharing your listing right now😡

Jun 11Reply

tauna66@katiecat11 I'm amazed of how many posher will give their personal address and phone # to have them pick up their items. Even the person who is picking up the item is being scammed. They find them on line too saying I'll pay you to pick up an item and mail it to us. So there is no way of tracing them. Thank you for sharing these post

Jun 11Reply

Jun 16Reply

mzpitty1I was contacted by Scammer with the first item I posted on POSHMARK! It was a common item and they wanted me to contact them in some convoluted way to get the merchandise. Offered $50 over the asking price...I said to myself: "Self these people are NUTS." But I guess they have some success or they wouldn't keep doing it?

Jun 19Reply

tauna66@mzpitty1 Good morning, yes they are nuts. You know the saying when it sounds to good to be true, it normally is. Really, who's going to pay extra for an item? No one!! They prey on vulnerable and naïve people. People assume if they're sending them a check before hand then the deal must be good. Thank you for sharing your story. 🤗

Jun 19Reply

celticviking828Hey saw something u posted on another poshers page, they seem a little suspect, anyway I can contact u to inquire? I dont want to be rude and put them on blast, just want some info and not to familiar with all the intricacies of this site yet and how poshers can communicate

Jul 24Reply

tauna66@celticviking828 hi, yes you can always contact me to inquire if your not sure. Just keep in mine no need to respond back to anyone who wants to make you an offer off the site. By email or text. If they won't communicate with you here on Poshmark then they are scammers. I've posted real examples in two different postings in my closet. Hope this is helpful. Sincerely, Tauna🦋💕

Jul 25Reply

celticviking828@tauna66 ive been a seller for years and same applies for all the other sites I use, I spoke to her off site cause it seemed easier, but as I said ive been doing this for years so I was weary, especially when she came back with the amount she was willing to pay, I just dont understand what type of scam they could be running, although as soon as I asked for her info she stoped replying.

Jul 25Reply

tauna66@celticviking828 ok ic and that's understandable. Yeah she doesn't sound like a pro scammer. More like a copy cat scammer trying to get over on you. If you know what I mean. The real big scammers don't really spend time communicating with you. All done through emails with directions on what to do and so forth.

Jul 25Reply

celticviking828@tauna66 lol so the buyer sent me an email supposedly from "p** p**" well being in this game for so long I have dummy email accounts for this exact reason, well the email contained numerous spelling errors as well as my dummy name in the email as soon as I called them out they blocked me or whatever, wish I had taken a screen shot so others would be aware

Jul 26Reply

eatsleepknit@rose_and_thorn . .. pls read 🤓

Jul 31Reply

dianesteinbergTechnology has created so many new scams - Poshmark and e-mails - no reason to do this off Poshmark - I want to be protected - I just wrote I only do business through Poshmark (or something to that effect)

Aug 14Reply

tauna66@dianesteinberg You did a great job. 🤗

Aug 18Reply

tauna66@ses54 YES!! A RAID POSH PARTY 🎉 😷💣💯🚫🐜🕷🕸

Aug 18Reply

ses54@tauna66 🎉💣💨🐜🕷🎊👍😂 Actually all you have to do is tap the little flag beside the scammers comment & you can report it as spam from there then go to their closet & hit the arrow box in the upper right hand corner & block them! I do that to every one of them I see! Usually it's less than 5 minutes until PM deletes their comment and shuts them down 👍

Aug 18Reply

tauna66@ses54 yeahhh I do the same thing.

Aug 18Reply

ses54@tauna66 Good deal👍 Well Tauna, you have a good weekend coming up & Happy Poshing 😊 Nice meeting you btw. 💫Sherry 💫

rosepetal7Are you calling me a scammer??

Aug 18Reply

tauna66@rosepetal7 no I'm not calling you a scammer! Just warning you about scammers. So you don't loose your items.

Aug 18Reply

rosepetal7Thank you

Aug 18Reply

tauna66@rosepetal7 you're most welcome, any time. Sorry for the confusion. Wishing you great success and happy poshing. If you have any questions or need assistance please feel free to ask me. Sincerely, Tauna 💕🦋

Aug 18Reply

rosepetal7Oh no need to be sorry, I appreciate you! I'm still so new to this, I actually received someone asking me to respond by email and almost did until I seen a thread of yours, so again I thank you! 😊

Aug 18Reply

tauna66@rosepetal7 ohh good, happy I was able to prevent you from being scammed 🤗

Aug 18Reply

jackie_mendozaa@tauna66 I just started my PM closet last week and I keep getting these a lot. Unfortunately I fell for it once and I honestly wished I saw this post sooner because at the time, I didn't know that this was scam operation until the person was being so annoying on following through on the "instructions" that I didn't want to follow through all the way. ;( I didn't send out the item anyways but still I genuinely didn't know that these bottom feeders lurk around here 😬😪😡 assholes.

Aug 21Reply

tauna66@jackie_mendozaa hi, I'm so sorry you had to go through that, I'm happy you didn't follow through and loosing your item and being in debt with the bank. I wish there was away to stop them from praying on the new poshers. It's just sickening and really annoying. If you have any future questions please feel free to ask me. Have a beautiful evening. Sincerely, Tauna 💕🦋

Aug 21Reply

valuevintage@tauna66 shared. This is definitely an issue. Poshmark needs to be a safe place for people to buy and sell. I love using my Poshmark and when I was new and this happened, I figured out right away what was wrong and reported it not only to Poshmark but to law enforcement. This isn't just a Poshmark issue, it is a crime to send counterfeit checks. So please also encourage your PFFs to contact law enforcement and make a report on whatever scam info they did receive.

Aug 24Reply

valuevintageWhen I looked into the people who were looking to scam me, they had already been previously arrested for the exact same crime. It's not innocent people, it is hardwired criminals who participate in these scams and they need to be stopped! Much love and thanks for keeping everyone up to speed ❤️🙏❤️

Aug 24Reply

tauna66@valuevintage you're most welcome, and you're right, these are harden criminals who are involved in these scams. Many players are involved. Poshers should be reporting the scammers to the police.

Aug 24Reply

chiquibeyaThanks hun for the info just the other day I had someone wanting me to email them and I did and wow I was shocked of all the stuff that was emailed back right off the back something seemed fishy so I just never replied back. It seemed to good to be true I almost believed it but , Thank goodness I didn't ! This helps info helps a lot of us New posher to not get scammed.

Sep 01Reply

denskoWhat do you do If you think you've been scammed?

Sep 04Reply

tauna66@densko did you make an off app sale? What makes you think you were scammed

Sep 04Reply

densko@tauna66 Hi Tina. No, I didn't make an off line sale. I sold a pair of jeans the other day. I just had a weird gut feeling about it. With all of my sales, I've had great communication with the buyers. I've found a sort of connection with several Poshers. I'll know more in a couple of days if it was a legitimate sale.

Sep 04Reply

denskoSorry, I meant off app sale. 😀

Sep 04Reply

tauna66@densko ok no worries then your safe. Not all poshers will communicate with you. If the purchased your jeans through the app then you're protected and will be paid after the buyer receives the item and okay it. They have three days to inspect your item to make sure it came as described in your listing

Sep 04Reply

tauna66@densko you can track your item and you will be notified that it was delivered

Sep 04Reply

tantan11Thanks for the tips!🙏🏼

bellecouturebtq@tauna66 - this was an email I got from a scammer. It shocks me that these people actually get away with this. It's so insulting. Read email below. FROM SCAMMER: 👉🏼👇🏻. Good to hear from you! please be informed that i would be making payment with Bank certified check, with an additional $70 for you to hold the item for me till check arrived...I would like you to kindly email me back with the information to mail the check to.

Sep 16Reply

bellecouturebtqCONTINUED; Name to be on the check: Full mailing address: Last asking price & cell phone#: I would assign a shipping agent who would come to pickup the item after the check clears your bank. Thanks 🙄🤥

Sep 16Reply

tauna66@bellecouturebtq yes, exactly what I told you their M O was. Thank you for posting this email so others can read it and how the scammers work.

tj0_0@tauna66 thanks for the warning I know i had a response asking for final asking price and more pic being sent to her email and definitely never intended on selling anywhere but in app even if asked via email but it sucks to know that they do stuff like this :/

Nov 05Reply

tauna66@tj0_0 you're most welcome, not all poshers are as fortunate some have lost their valuables , By doing an off app sale. Because you have a high price item you'll be targeted. If you receive any more requests asking to contact them off the app please block and report as spam. Poshmark will take care of the rest. Thank you. Wishing you great success and happy poshing.

lalacouture5Yea this happed to me! I sent them an item and was never paid. They told me multiple FAKE ways to sell on Posh when I first started. Just awful. Thanks for this notice. I try to tell everyone so what happened to me doesn’t happen to them. Good thing I only lost $25 bucks but not including time effort and constantly watching my accounts and changing passwords

ngriffo913@tauna66 OMG!!!

Feb 16Reply

ngriffo913@tauna66 what stops people from pretending that they didn't receive an item? Oh my.

Feb 16Reply

tauna66@ngriffo913 nothing really, but if an item is lost you will still get paid for your item. Poshmark will refund buyer and pay you as well. The package has a tracking on it so it will say if it was delivered or not.

Feb 16Reply

a_mccarter@tauna66 hi I'm fairy new.to this site and I'm kinda insure what u mean what do I need.to watch.out.for also have a question for u? I had seen a item I liked.and we negotiated a price and she wanted me.to.give info to make the transaction elsewhere I was comply confused a d in my confusion someone else apparemtlt.offwrwd her a higher price and she told em sorry so I lost the item bit what wear that where wuld we go?lol

Feb 17Reply

tauna66@a_mccarter Hi, if you read my scammer posting, these are real postings sent to poshers, stating how interested they are to please contact them by email etc. they’d are scammers trying to lure you off the app. They normally target high end items. So never except an offer away from the app. If they are truly interested in buying your item they won’t have a problem making u an offer or buying from the app

Feb 17Reply

a_mccarter@tauna66 thank u so much I dont.know if it was a scam or not I dont.thi k tjis was I jus think she was trying to get out of paying the poshmarj fee lol but still the item isn't in the site anymore old posting or nothing and it. e as very odd but I had no idea what she meant when she said how bout u do this amnt I do this off site lol. I was like um and before I could respond she came back with sorry someone offered more

Feb 17Reply

a_mccarterThanks for letting me know I appreciate this advice alor

Feb 17Reply

tauna66@a_mccarter it’s sounds kinda fishy, something not right with that offer. Beings that listing was deleted. As long as you stay on the app, for sells and purchases your protected.

Feb 17Reply

a_mccarter@tauna66 good I was kinda glad I lost it after initial.irritation left cuz I wouldn't have wanted to go anywhere off site and it was weird anyway..Lol thanks so much I appreciate ur Dvice and letting me know wjays.gokng on to look for

glesga52Hi darlen may I pass this on to all my Newbee followers. I love this. I had this happen to me when I opened my closet as a seller. But fortunately I had just finished reading about avoiding scammers... in the guidelines ..and let the scammer know only interested selling thru Poshmark. He didn't try me again.

Feb 19Reply

tauna66@glesga52 Thank you, yes I quickly realized when I signed up on Poshmark that scammers were in force and preying on new poshers. I personally warned poshers and decided to also make a posting on it to hopefully reach more people. I’m also going to make a YouTube video about it as well.

I've personally experienced this... they didn't get me tho..like how do you have an agent who is gonna come to my house to pick up your purchase??? I respectfully declined his or her &check and informed them that I don't do business outside of the app. I checked back and their account was deleted. Too many dishonest people out there!!! We all HAVE to be careful!! Thanks again!!❤💚💛

maclark77Thank you for posting this! For us newbies, it's great to know other Poshers are looking out for us. I actually had someone try to do this the other day, but fortunately, I had read the Poshmark FAQs about selling offline and politely responded that I communicate through here.

poshruckusThank you for this. I am new and have already received three of these scam requests. All for items over a certain amount. I just responded back, I only deal through posh. Have your “wife” make the offer on posh. Not what I wanted to say or thought🙀, but I would like to stay on posh myself.😉😉 I was curious as to how it worked and you explained it. Thanks so much. Valuable info- thanks for being a kind and an amazing posher!!🥰😘

amy830713Oh my.. I am too late to see this post.. I am a posher just few days ago. And one just left comment when I posted my first bag. I didn't think too much, so I gave her my cell#, mailing address and full name. She said she will send check in 24hrs but I didn't receive. Then I told her I found I sent the wrong address and I wanted to keep my bag. I am so worried about this. Hoping she hasn't sent the check out. If I receive the check next week, what should I do? Just tear off? Thank you for sharing

Nov 14Reply

tauna66@amy830713 hi, you should report to the authorities let them know your situation and give them the counterfeit check / Money order. I wouldn’t worry about scammers doing anything to you personally. Save your email conversations and print them out to give to authorities.
