It has taken me 3 years. First two I just started making better food choices and increasing activity. After two years, I had lost 50 pounds but had gained 10 back doing it that way. I decided I had to tighten up so I joined Weight Watchers. I have lost 30 pounds since then with about 30 more to go. I once qualified for bariatric surgery but turned it down. I am also diabetic and have gone from injections to pills, and since January, reduced amount of pills in half!

I do. I feel going to the meeting is important, too. Don't just do it online. There is an amazing app for your phone that comes with membership that makes it really easy to track your points, plan your day and even scan foods at the grocery to find out which brands are lower in points!

I was a lifetime member from when I was 15 years old when I only had 30 pounds to lose. I just turned 60. I gained weight back over years plus 40 pounds when I quit smoking a two pack a day habit 30 years ago.

You stay on it forever, BUT it is NOT a diet. It is a lifestyle. You are given a certain number of Special Points determined by your current height, weight, age, gender and if you a nursing or not. You are also given weekly points to "spend" for special occasions or just when you need a bit more food. I have 30 daily points and 28 weekly points.

I rarely use my weeklies. I did on Mardi Gras (used them ALL in one day). I live in New Orleans area. I used a few on my birthday. I used a few this week because I wanted a burger and fries and it was my first since January 2 when I joined. I got burger without mayo or cheese but everything else and I ended up only eating half my fries. I was stuffed.

Once you reach your goal weight, they gradually increase points until you begin to gain then they back down one or two and that is your "maintenance" level. You CAN eat whatever you want but you have to measure everything and I decide if spending points on XYZ is REALLY worth it or not. If not, I don't eat it.

Best of luck! I'm still looking in your closet, considering a bundle of two items. I am keeping my temporary wardrobe on the less expensive side. MY closet is made up of most of my "fat" clothes I'm trying to sell in order to buy new ones. My 3Xs I gave away to a friend who is also doing this journey with me. She was a 4X.
