Our posh scammers are relentless and trying to be crafty. They are trying everything to pull us away from the posh app to either make an off line sale or get you to an Unsecure site to scam you. Please BEWARE, NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION or do an off line purchase. They promise you a certified check before they receive your item. These checks are counterfeit. You will lose your item and be in debt with the bank. Take note 📝 of the two messages both from the same fake posher.

Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I had posted a pair of boots and had immediately received an "interested person". They said that they were interested and wanted to know if I still had them. They also said that they were at work. I responded that yes I had them. Their comment disappeared including my response.
Jul 30Reply

tauna66
@densko Hi 👋, yes it was a scammer, Poshmark deleted there request. I made this post to help new poshers and other who are not aware of these scammers. Please feel free to share and add it to your page. Have a beautiful day and happy poshing 🦋💕

orangeelephant
Is it a scam when you cross post an item on another buying/selling app? M does protect you as well, and they didn't provide an email like the others. I can see how this trickery would confuse someone...I do have items on another app and am told to be protected just as this app does, as long as you DON'T make sales off the app. So I am taken back by the one person who only asked, told you rather, to list it on M. How do they scam you if you did that?
Aug 03Reply

tauna66
@orangeelephant they did it with more then just one posher, not just the one time. When they got the posher to go to the other app. They told them that they were having problems with the app but was serious and very interested in the item. Trying to make an off line sell. As I stated before, if your on an app and the sell is done through the app then by all means sell your item. I'm just informing others what will happen if you don't use the app to buy or purchase.
Aug 12Reply

tauna66
@tgboxall1955 yes I seen that in your posting, I reported it. 🤗
Aug 12Reply

tauna66

@tauna66 Ooo shamefully tricky folks indeed! I wondered how they scammed the person on the other app and now I understand how they try to confuse and doop them. I REALLY appreciate your dedicated and hard work to keep all of us informed and protected! THANK YOU! 🙌

@tauna66 These people are targeting new poshers because they do t know the difference or they target high end items! I've reported i dont know how many of them! Even if it's in someone else's closet! I'm sick of it! 😡😤
Aug 18Reply

tauna66
@ses54 yes it is, I post my scammer postings into new poshers private closet. To warn them. Your more then welcome to copy and paste and add to your closet.
Aug 18Reply

ses54
@tauna66 That's a good idea! Posh should post one of these to every new posher that signs up!! People are so cruel & greedy! It's awful
Aug 18Reply

tauna66
@ses54 I agree, they only state the off line sales are not allowed and your not protected. To a new posher they are not aware of scammers to this degree

Quick question - someone did the mer*cari thing asking me to list it on there bc they didn't have any money on here, but thrn stopped talking to me. Can u explain how its a scam? Now I use the app sometimes and let people know I have a $10 off promo code, but I never understood why the other Posher went through all the trouble to get me to list on there just to ignore me.
Sep 11Reply

tauna66
@michellex0o hi, the app M..... as you may know is a selling app just like Poshmark. The app itself is not a scam. Sometimes they try to get you to sign up. Then tell you they don't have $ or app isn't working. In the hopes that in the frustration of you signing up you'll just do an off line sale to scam you. In your case she probably was just recruiting you to get $2.00 added to her account. For every person you get to sign up you get 2.00 and the new person gets 10.00.
Sep 11Reply

tauna66
@ggmonstar you're most welcome, yes it's a vicious cycle dealing with these scammers hitting up our new poshers. I try to greet as many new poshers as possible to make them aware of the scammers. Wishing you great success and happy poshing 💕🦋

brisss1315
Why didn't I read this before!!!!! I just got major scammed and the whole situation is screwed up 😑 the girl 'sent my items to the wrong girl' no tracking, nothing! I got left with a stained &5 shirt. I sent her $300 work of PINK & Lauren James stuff. So sad I'll never get that back-- she had no feedback. I guess I will bite my tongue and take my L
Sep 14Reply

tauna66
@brisss1315 was this an off app sell? If so did you flag and report the incident? How was the payment for your items made or was this supposed to be a trade? Sorry just trying to understand the whole situation. I'm sorry this happen to you. It's important to share your story and who scammed you in hopes that it isn't repeated by someone else.
Sep 14Reply

brisss1315
@tauna66 we agreed to trade and she was very nice at first seemed like she was sincere about 'accidentally sending my package to the wrong person' yet made fake #s and asked me to call her mom and would never tell me the other girls name or her address or anything!
Sep 14Reply

tauna66
@brisss1315 did your package you sent her have a tracking # and a home address or PO box address
Sep 14Reply

brisss1315
@tauna66 yes! It said it was delivered Saturday, yet on Monday she claims she never got
Sep 14Reply

tauna66
@brisss1315 I would call the post office in her town and ask to speak with the mail carrier or have them leave a message stating you delivered a package. And the party in question said they didn't receive it. Ask if he remembers delivering the package. If anything you might be able to make a claim and get some money back. I'd also make a police report. This is a crime and should be reported.
Sep 14Reply

northernkitsch
Sharing this!!! I've seen some new scams and I need to screen cap them next time.
Sep 23Reply

northernkitsch
Poshmark makes me keep editing this comment haha. There is a new scam where they tell you that ppl who use outside sites are scammers and to use something else. They usually dispute and get their funds back since they'll ask for Friends&Family
Sep 23Reply

tauna66
@northernkitsch yeah it gets flagged if you mention another sight. You're more than welcome to copy my scammers post by screen shooting it. You can you my examples or use your own. It's great to use with new poshers to make them aware of the scammers
Sep 23Reply

northernkitsch
@tauna66 I did not know that! Thank you so much for sharing and giving me a heads up :). ty for making the community safe!
Sep 23Reply

tauna66
@northernkitsch you're welcome 😊 as long as you sell and make purchases through the app you're safe. If you ever receive an item that isn't authentic or isn't as described when you bought it you can email Poshmark And make a claim. If it's found that your statements are true they will refund your money. So be sure to ask a lot of questions before buying an item. They look back on the messages when you make claim.
Sep 23Reply

goldrim
@tauna66 Hi, question. Can I offer private bundles to two different buyers at the same time when there are like items? One item overlaps.
Oct 08Reply

tauna66
@goldrim if it's in your like items you can offer both poshers a deal. If a posher has made you an offer already and it's pending, then no you can't. Hope this answers your question.
Oct 08Reply

goldrim
@tauna66 Yes, thank you so much for your help!

@vindap welcome to the Poshmark community, a scammer is anyone who wants to make an off app purchase. Wanting you to contact them by email, phone call or by text. Also by trading. Poshmark can't protect you and your items with off app purchases. To remain safe and protected always sell and buy only through the app.
