fairlygirly@rachsbuch The material does not stretch, but there is a smocked portion at the waist that is stretchy and the tie in the back is adjustable. It's a really nice, drapey rayon type feel. This dress is gorgeous and has only ever gotten 5 stars. The dress is true to size.

The only thing I'm worried about is that the area with the elastic beneath the tie in the back was huge. Are they all like that?

fairlygirly@malligator92 I'd be happy to exchange it for you, but yes, the smocked part isn't generally tight fitting. You could always have it altered. Some ladies have said it fits loose, others have said it's a perfect fit. I think it depends more on body type than the individual dresses. It isn't loose on me, but I'm small on top and all junk in the trunk.
