@sandi7 Good Evening, Approximate bust is 38" for M, 40" for large. Waist stretches up to 36" M, 38" L. I really recommend going by the numerical equivalents that I have stated next to alphabetic sizes in the description. I've sold out and restocked this dress over a half dozen times and so far everyone who has used the size comparison to select their size has been thrilled with their purchase. It is a fabulous dress!

@slthompson47 3XL would be safest size for you. You would need to take up the hem but I can't know how much pattern you'd lose by doing so, not all of it. It should be an easy hem to take up though because it's even.

Sorry for delay. Besides wet carpet thanks to Harvey, I had to call paramedics for my mother. Feels like I'm being punk'd! Sorry...just stressed. I'm still reluctant because I know I'll have to pay for alterations but it's not knowing if it's possible to take up length. I'll make a decision and submit offer soon. @leoninus If I bought the 3X because I'm a 14, do you think the shoulders will be too wide? I'm not broad shouldered at all. I just don't want to buy a beautiful dress that I can't wear or return. Would the 2X be ok or too snug across chest and mid section? I certainly don't want the faux wrap to not even wrap.

@leoninus Actually no, I’m still losing but can’t afford much more. I’m down to 112 now. Waist is around a 26, 32C & 5’1. I was set to get the small cuz I can wear XS or S in shirts & leggings but got nervous with the digit sizes next to the (S) & (M). What do u think?

@mamacatz Go by the size you purchased previously. If L is quite a bit too big then small is probably the correct size. Numerical equivalents listed next to alphabetical size is my own guesstimate. I noticed you stated size 1X as equivalent to 12/14 whereas I have size 2X as that. So I guessed on the smaller side.

@kbrattain2 You haven’t mentioned your exact bust size so I recommend going with XL if you’re a 36DDD or smaller, the XXL if you’re 38 or higher band size. This isn’t a dress where sizing has to be 100% exact. Due to the faux wrap style of the upper portion and stretchability of the fabric, it’s pretty accommodating.
