If you have a problem with tarnishing, it could be a chemical reaction with your skin, lotion, cosmetics, humidity, climate, etc. Many different things cause tarnish. This necklace seems to have a clear coat over the plating which helps it not to tarnish faster.

playboy_jewelry @ishop15 But again, if tarnishing seems to be a problem with silver pieces for you, it's most likely an environmental or chemical factor. Just air can cause tarnishing. The most important thing with costume jewelry is not to get it wet (especially in chlorine water) or in humid environments. I don't want to say that it's not going to tarnish, because there are so many things that cause tarnishing. However, the clear coat on this one helps to prevent it from tarnishing faster.
