lipsticknjeans Omg! It’s so good to have a post like this one. My thyroid is shot to hell. So yes. I have it as well. Them I have lymphedema and lip edema. Through it all, I feel blessed. I am on thyroid meds, I have to pump and wrap. Worst thing? I can’t wear heels. So I’m gonna list them all!! God is good.

She’s a sweet lady, I’ve had her for over 10 years. She does her best to manage my issues due to being sick. But I know she’s in over her head. amandanewell625 @goensshopping so sorry to hear about the surgery. went through that myself a few years ago (must be something with autoimmune). I hear you about docs being overwhelmed. Took me years to assemble a team who can deal with all of my issues. Are you near a major city or a University Hospital? It can be worth it to travel for the experience and research staff.

goensshopping @amandanewell625 Yes I live in San Bernardino California and Loma Linda University Hospital which is the best one closest to me is about 20 min away at the most. I need to find a new insurance network, my hubs has great insurance but my Group has been slacking. I love my Dr and hate change so I’m not sure when I’ll finally get to it. It’s a lot of work finding a new one so I’m overwhelmed. I’m just waiting till after all this surgery stuff is over and I hv less on my plate.

kimkay78 Thank you for sharing your story. I have Hashimotos as well. I got it after having my daughter. My doctor said a lot of women get it after having 2 or more kids but I just had 1. I will be on pills for the rest of my life but she was worth it. 😊

goensshopping @kimkay78 Yes they’re definitely worth it. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism after my first. Little did I know, 90% of people diagnosed with hypothyroidism actually have Hashimoto’s disease. I had 2 more but I don’t regret it one bit. My last baby was the nail in my coffin lol. So sick after her and since but still would not change a thing.

goensshopping @kimkay78 I’d rather have my blessings of my children even if it made me sicker. I always reassure them of that. This disease has led to so many other health issues. Recently had a hysterectomy. Now I have a GI appt tomorrow which I wouldn’t be surprised if I had another autoimmune disease in that area. But one day at a time and strength from God, loved ones and support from people like you. Praying for you. 🙏🏻💖

kimkay78 @goensshopping I am so sorry to hear that it got worse after your second! We are not having anymore but I think mine would have gotten worse if we did. Do you take Synthroid for yours? That is what I have been taking and it has helped. I still have symptoms but not as bad. My hair that I lost grew back so That was good!

goensshopping @mberky8 I’ve been struggling with severe stomach issues now. Horrible pain. I have a GI appt today. We’ll see how that goes. Most likely after this first meeting I’ll end up having a colonoscopy (super fun 😩). But at least I’ll know what’s going on there. It’s like playing whakamole. Just had a hysterectomy and now this. livininluxe @goensshopping I’m so sorry, I don’t know what you’re going through but I know being around my mom when she was going through it, it was hard on us all. Because she just wasn’t herself. She takes a lot of specific vitamins now that her doctor Dr Sarfraz Zaidi told her to and they have helped tremendously. He talks about it in his books. Lots of vitamin D and Zinc and B. Hope you feel better!!!!!

livininluxe @goensshopping yeah it’s amazing to have a supportive family that understands. We all didn’t get it at first. The doctor had her start taking 20,000mg of vitamin D a day. Yes 20k lol because she was so low and it was making it worse. I think she still takes 10k now and constantly gets all her levels checked.

goensshopping @bugattibenz Yeah I hear that. For a month straight I had to take 50,000ml a week. Now I’m taking 50,000 once a month. It’s tricky. My thyroid levels are actually low now so I’m trying to get them back up to normal but it takes time and the physical aspects are horrible.

She’s finally now back to herself but anytime there is a little bit of a stressful event she panics bc she’s worried the stress will make it worse. goensshopping @xjennifer95x I totally understand. It can get so overwhelming at times. I’ve been going through one of the roughest flare or something since the beginning of April. I am awaiting results on Lupus screening blood tests from my dr which I’ve already peaked at and there’s 2 positive results I’m really scared honestly about. It’s just good to share with and encourage each other through the low valleys in life.

simplysavvy789 Hey there. This was a great idea for a follow game. My invisible illness is so invisible that sometimes I doubt myself if it’s real, because others doubt me so much. People think I’m making it all up to get out of life. Ha. I wish. I’m in pain every day. I am on nausea medicine that they usually prescribe to cancer patients. I have to take a pill every night before bed and every morning before sitting up because if I don’t, I’ll puke upon getting out of bed.

I’ve even swallowed a video camera and pooped it out, got it out of my poop and sent it to the lab. They found nothing. They never find anything. But obviously something is wrong. Not everyone is like me.

I’ve had a hysterectomy but kept my ovaries, I’ve had a Pulmonary Embolism, colitis as well as my thyroid disease. It’s been a roller coaster. I can’t even count anymore how many CTs and other scans I’ve gotten. Lol. Been a roller coaster. Latest thing.... cont

Try you’re hardest not to catastrophize your pain. Like I said, this too shall pass. Try not to think like, “my face is hurting. This will last the rest of my life. I cannot deal with this forever. It hurts so bad and will only get worse.” Thats catastrophizing.

Your latest problem with head, neck & jaw pain sounds like TMJ, it causes severe pain & headaches/migraines. There are stretches you can do, pain meds, & heat/ice is helpful. What is mastoid, I’ll have to look that up… but in the meantime if you try ice or heat it is helpful and if you can find any hard spots like muscle spasms if you massage them it will help break them up esp around ur jaw. Google stretches for ur neck, u can do while in bed. I’ve had this pain for 30 years and it’s not fun!

Mastoid bone is located behind your ears, I believe mine are infected with something. It also could be autoimmune. My dr ran an ANA blood test that was positive meaning there’s a lot of inflammation going on in my body but she doesn’t know why yet.

I asked her to check for lupus because I suspected something like that because of my symptoms, what sealed it was the pharmacist telling me that the rash on my face looked like a lupus rash. Idk how many tests there are but I’m negative on 3 tiers?
