apachecat99 know this since knockoffs have made such an improvement in trying to look real and I thought there was a law that makes selling any type of knockoff illegal, even if it says inspired by and has the basis print an I wrong on that? Maybe it’s just for the ones that are sold as real I’m not sure I’ve gotta look that up.. but this was a great detail of the tiny things anyone could miss when buying a bag from here or anywhere that’s not an authorized seller or LV, great work on that!😘

apachecat99 I do have to say it’s sad that people try to deceive people who maybe can’t afford the retail price so they go to consignment stores or sites like Poshmark I’ve caught a few that were blatantly fake I just hope if anyone bought it they knew what they were buying but as I understand Poshmark doesn’t allow fakes or lookalikes but I guess it’s really up to the buyer to make sure, sad

moxie_ This doesn’t apply to vintage items. The French Company made authentic Louis Vuitton and some of their items have different characteristics. I have one that my grandmother gave me, at first I thought it was not authentic until I took it to an authorized store to confirm what my grandma had told me.

relaxkitty88 When I purchased my speedy from LV in mid/late2007, they had changed the design of the edges to have some kind of wire inside( presumably to help hold the shape) Enough customers experienced issues with the wire becoming exposed, that LV offered to take the bags apart for free and restore the edge to the original rolled leather type.

relaxkitty88 I remember it took awhile to get back, but the bag is still going strong after 12 years. I used my speedy 30 almost every day, so I went back to get the edges redone within the year. However, coated canvas bags from this window of time that were rarely used or kept in pristine condition might not have the rolled edge.
