I’ve bought a few Tory’s here on Posh and they have all been fakes. Please pay careful attention to the tags. Not necessarily the inside tag but the outside tag. The outside symbol should be a light gold not a deep copper gold. It should be a large font not a small tiny font. Also the emboss on the stamp should be aligned. ALSO not all zipper pulls are stamped. Please note I will NOT authenticate. I am not certified to do so. I am just giving you some friendly advice to help you. Read comments

crystalpixel This picture is a Fake Tory to the left and a Real Tory on the right. You can tell the quality of the hardware and color is much different. Also the leather is softer and grains are smaller.

crystalpixel I’ve attached two REAL Tory tags from my purses. These bags came directly from TB site. I can’t upload the fake tags cause posh flags them as replicas. So hopefully this will help you compare your tags with real ones

crystalpixel If you bought a Tory and suspect it’s fake. Don’t accept the order. Compare tags and if it doesn’t seem right flag it as a return and upload photos of the tag and bag itself. Posh will give you a label to return the bag and get your refund. Don’t make the mistake and accept it and be stuck

crystalpixel Another thing I need to point out. The T and H at the beginning and end of Tory Burch should align with each side of the Tory symbol. So if the Tory Burch in the tag doesn’t start at the edge of the circle and end at the other edge - it’s a fake. The tags in my pictures are real.

goodbuy18 I received a fake Tory bag bought on Posh too. I read via research that authentic Tory zipper pulls should have “TORY BURCH” etched on both edges of the pull. The Posher had posted pics of a zipper pull with the TB etching—but the bag she sent me didn’t have the engraving on the pulls! Posh allowed me to return but it was a hassle & annoying to get conned. I see a lot of scammers on Posh & it’s a shame to ruin the community as such 😠.

crystalpixel @goodbuy18 that sucks. I’m glad you were able to get your $ back. It’s really unfortunate that they are all over posh. I have flagged many sellers but still see them selling - or I call them out and they block me. Which is why I posted this. Please share. The more we inform buyers - then we can push the con artists out of Posh eventually.

crystalpixel @tere55 I think if you follow the TH rule where the T should be aligned to the circle as well as the H - you could prob tell most of the fake tags on posh. I’ve been trying to flag the fakes. Good luck though! Glad I can help

Another thing I’ve been seeing is that people will ask me for certain pictures of my high end items, and then I see those pictures on other post. I’m starting to add my name on those. crystalpixel @hannnknight my tags are real from Tory. Fake tags are obvious fake - the “Tory Burch” will be small and not align from one side of the emblem to the next. That bag looks legit from the tag. And the packaging looks right too. That’s how they wrap their bags. If you buy. Inspect it close before you accept it in poshmark and make sure it smells like leather and not chemical.

tbrumlow Please help! I just bought a small Emerson buckle tote on this site for $115. It’s one month old (supposedly). I was skeptical but seller declared it was authentic. I received it yesterday and the zippers are not engraved. I did not accept the order and opened a case. It just doesn’t seem to be good quality. The seller responded that this particular bag does not have engraved zipper pulls. Is this correct?

posh_mermaid For the inside tag. Two questions. I've seen tags where the color/color code number is typed directly under the info like the bag name but here there's a space AND numbers between them. Do those numbers need to always exist and if not would there still be a space between the bag name and the line stating the color code and color name? I can try to clarify if part of this doesn't make sense.

joiz2011ng I also found that inside the bags should have a lining with the T stamps all over it...at least the real ones do. I've asked some sellers to take a pic of the inside of the purse and if their not willing to I just assume they know they're selling fakes... which is really sad.

alwaystonya Hello, Someone purchased my New Tory Burch Bag. It’s in my closet and has sold on it. She opened a claim saying it was fake because it does not have a stamp on the zipper. I know for a fact this is a 100% authentic bag. It was purchased from Nordstrom’s by my husband. I also sent her the dust bag. Are there any suggestions on what to do after someone opens a case on an authentic bag that they are claiming is not authentic?

almagabri Hey I just bought a TB Fleming backpack and it said it was authentic. It arrived in normal packaging, the dust bag looks like the pics when you google them, but it smells horrible. Like fake, I’ve heard leather gets damaged but never herd of it having bad smell. It still has the tags and the protective foam around it. But the smell is just bad. crystalpixel @tedoee tory has outlet stores around the country that don’t have the same styles as the bags on their website or in high end department stores. These bags are lower priced and not as great quality as the ones you see from their regular stores. So if you don’t run into the style on their site - it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s not authentic :)

crystalpixel Please note I will try to help. I am NOT an expert. It is really hard to tell if a Tory is fake via pictures sometimes. If you are unsure. Ask for proof of purchase and get additional information from the seller. Also - check their closet. If they sell a butt load of “nwt” Tory’s then most likely it’s not real. Individual closet with onsie twosie? You have a better chance of it being real. But also know some buyers have bought from posh and got douped 😢 so it’s good to get a second opinion.

mexicano12 I had bought on here a brand new Tory Fleming for half the retail price so I knew I should inspect it carefully upon receiving.. sure enough it was a fake! I had purchased a real one from Nordstrom but returned it because I thought I found a great deal on here, with that being said I was more familiar with the quality of a real one. The smell of leather was way different and the chain strap on the fake one was noisy and stiff the real one wasn’t.

It’s the inside of the bag, it’s the quality hardware, it’s the stamped logos on the interior of the bag, the grain of leather, it’s quite a few thing to look out for. I’d also say go to the TB website to compare what the authentic looks like so you can compare to the one you’re looking to buy off poshmark or any other site. Research.

The tag is authentic because the T and H lines up, but on the zippers I noticed there is not Tory Burch stamped on the sides. It’s just a plain zipper on the insides. moxiebo I purchased a blush colored wallet. I thought it was an older model but it doesn’t zip all the way around and the logo plate is plastic. Moreover the outside pull is octagon and no logo or name. It was made in China. Unfortunately I kept getting that reminder to accept the shipment so I did so they would shut up but did not rate it. orchidisland i purchased a TB tote on Poshmark assuming everything was authentic. My clues were scuffed hardware, chains that did not close all the way and the way the straps are sewn together. the scuffs and dents on the grommets were not consistent with the wear on the bag itself because there was no wear outside the bag. i own authentic TB and the quality is awesome hardware and all. I would also beware of the same model showing so many bags.

I posted a question asking if the bag I bought was authentic and I explain why is it was fake. She took deleted that item from her page. It was fake was the head zipper by the zipper pull has the word “ideal” engraved which is weird!! The logo area had no leather behind it where I was able to see the inside of the bag through the logo. It was unfortunate that I figured this out after the fact.

Be aware and check hardware and all metal details in your bag before accepted, real Tory Burch have always light gold matte like hardware, no shiny!!! Also Fleming what I receive was bit smaller size then real one and more flat, the quality of leather to compare fake and real You can feel it, it’s not that smooth.

If take my bad experience with fake bag (it’s was regular Fleming not matte) - for first look bag was looking good quality and very real, it’s very identical, it even had clear tag inside. but compared to real one - more small size and more flat, and very shiny hardware !!! And different type of tag, not like Tory Burch have. I don’t know how, but maybe throw the bundle, I can send you photo how looks réal tag. Does bag what you want to purchase new with tag?

purse_whisperer I would like to caution against something I saw in this post. You ABSOLUTELY CANNOT tell a fake Tory Burch bag by just the white hang tag! There have been some people who identify a Tory Burch bag as NEW, even though it is used. They will try to RECREATE the Tory tag and attach it to a 100% authentic USED bag! They clean the bag up and the bag is REAL, but the tag is NOT! So you ABSOLUTELY CANNOT go by the tag! Of course, no one wants a used bag when they think they are buying new, BUT...

For example, the two bags pictured in the first photo of this listing might indicate that the bag on the left is fake OR it could be a different collection. The bag on the right, outlined in white, may have been part of a Duet line, which has the piping, or a resort collection, while the bag on the left may be a bag in the regular line. The point is that you have to KNOW THE NAME of the bag AND STYLE NUMBER,

There are Ella bags in different materials, different colors, prints, solids, capsule collections, resort collections, etc. You may get an Ella bag that looks ENTIRELY different from mine, but BOTH are real! The KEY is being able to identify the history of the particular bag YOU are buying. If you have the style number, which is at the top of the tag, you can do that. You can take that

So, Nordstroms may have a particular Robinson that Bloomingdales doesn't carry and vice-versa! The bottom line is that you have to use MORE than just tags and the body style to tell if a Tory Burch bag is real or not. There are a lot of small details that you have to examine to make sure.

purse_whisperer I will give you a great example of how all of this comes into play. There was a bag here on Posh. The seller posted great pictures of all the areas of the bag. One of the posters asked the seller if the bag was authentic and she said she didn't know. Another person chimed in to say that she thought the bag was fake. I took ONE LOOK at that bag and a smile broke out on my face because I knew the year and collection that bag was a part of. The seller apologized to everyone and discounted the bag!

mjburris @c_heck21 I almost purchased a Tory wallet on Poshmark. Thankfully she waited a few days to ship it out. I saw this post and asked her a few questions regarding of the item. She cancelled the order. 🤷🏻‍♀️I also recently purchased a Mk coin wallet on eBay. It turned out fake too!! I send a message to the seller and as of today i havent received an answer. It is upsetting! mrtravisparr May I ask you if you think a Tory bag on eBay is real? I want the believe the seller and he has the receipt of some purchases he made by a Tory outlet close to his house. My mind just thinks the worst when buying these types of things from eBay. It would make my day if you could! I don’t believe there is a way to call the store and authenticate it, is there? I am currently fighting it, but PM is delayed in their response due to the holidays. Apparently, she has already been paid. so I am not sure what happens in this case. any insight? pattylaiche @crystalpixel I just received my second Tory Burch bag from the same seller on PM. I found your feed when I googled how to know if a TB bag is fake. I paid $300 for the Lee Radziwill Small Double Bag. I have not accepted it yet. Looked at the tag, T does not start at end of circle, nor does the H go to the end of the circle. Seller suddenly has no items for sale. There were alot up until at least a few days ago. I already accepted the other bag! Advice? Thank you.

lanenapochola I just bought a Gemini tote and accepted it yesterday. I’ve never owned a Tory Burch bag so I’m not familiar but the seller said it was authentic. It does feel light a cheap, to be honest and the coated canvas is quite shiny, all signs that I may have a fake. Is it too late to contact poshmark to open a case? realizeu @crystalpixel I read that hardware should be engraved on at least 1 side or edge. Not all sides are engraved but all pulls have at least 1 side engraved. This is the best way to tell on a used TB bag.

realizeu @crystalpixel read closetfullofcash.com for article on how to authenticate TB. All Zipper pulls should have a stamp on them albeit not all sides need to be stamped.

categoodwin I purchased a TB Perry Gingham Tote from Poshmark. The seller did not have any tags from her purchase but sent me screen shots of her emailed receipt. The inner tags say made in Cambodia and the zipper is stamped with ykk. It’s wonderful how you and many on here are helping out with making sure the ladies in Poshmark are receiving authentic items. I was wondering if you or someone could help me confirm if my tote is authentic? Thank you!! I can send pics so any help is appreciated!

pastel_sprite How many digits are on the item number inside most of the bags? Are they exactly the same as the price tag or with additional numbers in front? Also wanted to add: watch out for “authenticated” TB bags on here and other apps. I bought one with authentication and it was definitely fake.
