aliwm@lydonlydon - Hi. I have no idea how much it weighs, but not that much. I think it's glass, not crystal. I had it hanging in my dressing room & everyone loved it. It's so pretty. You really can't tell if it's crystal or not when it's hanging from the ceiling. Would be so cute in a little girls' room, too.

aliwm@missamberbamber - That is a very good question & I'm not an electrician but I can tell you what I did.... I took an existing light on ceiling & removed it, my then husband attached 2 wires (I think) that were already there. Then, there is a stainless piece at top of cord that hides all wires & you can adjust it to how long or short you want it to be. Really simple for anyone familiar with electricity....
