This piece is exquisite!
The bodice is Tatting using a cotton thread. It is made in one piece connected at the center back. You can also see small darts front and back.
The lace bodice is in PERFECT condition.
The cotton broadcloth dress is gathered at the empire waist.
The dress/ skirt is sheer.
There is light damage to the skirt, a couple holes and some stains.
**** I mainly posted this exquisite piece to share with the community and for Fashion Curators if interested.

Thank you for sharing. It's a beautiful piece. It's a shame, clothing is not made of pure cotton like before. Very rare and hard to find. Unfortunately, cutting corners & making money has change the quality of the clothing industry.

Very pretty!
(I think the lace is actually filet crochet, rather than tatting.)

The bodice is an example of filet crochet lace 😊

This is a lovely example of the past. Just beautiful condition! I shared your listing. Fine needle work but I’m sorry to say this isn’t Tatting. My grandmother taught me Tatting in the 70’s because then it was a fading art. Tatting has small round circles. I still have my little shuttle tool. Happy memory now. Thanks for sharing!
