Artisan - Fossilized Pyrite Ammonite Necklace

Unique necklace beaded with glazed gray glass beads and ancient African trade beads with a focal pendant of the most amazing ammonite millions of years old, fossilized in pyrite and stone. Necklace is approx 45" long, can be worn long or layered. Fossil is approx 2" x 2". Handcrafted with love by me Ammonites were marine animals that existed during the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods, and are related to modern-day octopi, squid and cuttlefish. The same event that wiped out dinosaurs was the end of this species, as well. Organic matter was replaced with Pyrite during the fossilization process. Also known as "Fool's Gold", pyrite is an iron sulfide mineral. Ammonites, as all fossils, may open a path to ancient earth and perhaps the wisdom of the ancients. Pyrite is said to have a strong "male" energy. It can be used to increase willpower. It can help overcome challenging situations or with perseverance.
