dotseyqueen @cruelgirlarcher Thank you Marcy for taking the time to do all that. I did find out that she was made by Zuni Veronica Pablano. @sundancewarrior was very nice and gave me that information..And my foot is fine just frustrating with this heavy boot I have to sleep in.

amimac1 @dotseyqueen Hi there! I’m very knowledgeable on Native jewelry as I’ve worked with a Navajo tribal lawyer for many years, and sold for many years as well. I’m not sure where the other seller came up with Veronica Pablano bc she is noted for her unique, contemporary designs. This is a much older piece and not contemporary. There are many ways to tell the age and era of a piece and one is that it is not hallmarked or signed by the artist. Also not stamped sterling.

amimac1 @dotseyqueen Two signs (along with design) that will help find the age. Signing/hallmarking (by stamp) native pieces didn’t really start until after 1957 (there’s some exceptions but were usually hand inscribed and not stamped). Also stamping silver content on native jewelry pieces started in the late 50s as well and you really started seeing markings coming into play until the 60s. Thanks to bell trading post.

dotseyqueen @amimac1 I did figure she was quite old mainly because of the style of Minnie. She is quite thick and has no markings whatsoever. I wondered if the cuff part had been replaced somewhere along her travels as it is thinner and quite plain. I did know that the older pieces were not marked but I did not know the dates in which the signing of sterling, 925 etc. started. That information is very helpful and I thank you for that!

dotseyqueen @amimac1 I cannot count how many times potential buyers have turned down a purchase after asking if the item was stamped 925. Even after informing them that not being stamped actually helps prove the fact that the item is an older piece they are not convinced. Anyway thank you VERY MUCH, you literally made my day as I am on my way to get an xray on my fractured foot that has already slowed me way down for a month so far. amimac1 @dotseyqueen oh, I most definitely will have more information for you!! This is my passion!!! And I’m so thankful I found your page and this piece. It looks to me like someone turned this into a cuff and the mini was soldered on. It drives me crazy that people don’t understand that older pieces do not have markings so they think the piece isn’t really sterling or of less value.

amimac1 @dotseyqueen When in all actuality, a lot of pieces have higher Silver content than 925 bc coins were melted down in order to make these beauties! Back when coins were actual silver! And not to be mean, but it made me laugh that the lady above through out a random name on who makes it but I found out why she said her, someone had a Mickey Mouse ring on Pinterest and said she was the maker but that’s 100% false.
