outshopping @apparelhunters There is not that much difference in an 8 (at 9.84 inches long) or a 9 (at 10.24), however, for this shoe you should go to the 9. There is a fixed bow and you will have more ease to pull on the boot. I'm a 6 1/2 and went to a 7 in these.
