kovetedkloset
kovetedkloset Hi. I know this is random but I searched beware of scammers and this came up. I have a question I really need help with and I know poshmark support will take days to answer me. I recently had someone make a purchase. I went to their page to leave a comment (due to a family emergency I haven't shipped yet) I happened to notice the other comments left for this person, they're all indicating they've made a bunch of purchases all within the last few days.
Feb 04Reply
kovetedkloset
kovetedkloset The oldest comment is 2 days old. THEN when you go to meet your Posher, it's a bunch of other meet your Posher listings of other people. I've only seen that one other time and it was when I got a comment saying how they are interested in purchasing but to email them (provided an email) on a "welcome to my closet" listing. I'm not super new to Poshmark but I have had a few cases opened against me recently that were so unfair.
Feb 04Reply
kovetedkloset
kovetedkloset I've been scared to even make a sale because it's crazy how dishonest people are.Sorry if this is confusing, long whatever I need to get the item out, and I really don't know what to do. I'm going to put the purchsed item at the top of my page if someone could please look at it and let me know what they think. If really appreciate it.
Feb 04Reply
tootsiedog1
tootsiedog1 @kovetedkloset if you did the sale directly through Poshmark you are 100% safe. Get the item mailed out before 7 days, because if you take longer then that, the person who purchased it can cancel the order. Never go off this site to do a transaction! Ignore anyone that says would love to buy your item email me at..... I hope this helps♥️

jthomp64
jthomp64 I agree, however doing transactions on other reputable sites is not a bad thing or necessarily mean it’s a scam, it could just mean you want to avoid posh’s ridiculous fees. Now if someone want you to pay via 🅿️🅿️, z e l l e, Ven m o etc, that’s almost always a scam!

wardco This is awesome information, I am new to Poshmark and my first day in the first hour I had someone ask me to get off the site and sell them an item. I refused because it didn’t seem right. jdcares
jdcares Hi, people may already know this, but if you click on the faint little gray flag next to where it says reply on a comment, you can click report as scam, transaction off Poshmark or whatever option you choose, and it will go right to Poshmark. And it automatically deletes the comment off your post.
Jun 20Reply
jdcares
jdcares Then you don’t even have to reply to the post about the emails and Poshmark will get notified and they will deal with the person. I’ve done this every time I see that kind of a comment, even on other Posher’s items.

jmevitali
jmevitali ok ladies I have a question. I'm fairly new here so about a week into this I found a LV bag I wanted for a while now. but the cheapest one I could find was around 1200. I saw on comments some lady asked if she would take 800 and she said if you can pick it up in person then yes. the chick lived to far so I said I could pick up. then I noticed she had the same bag posted in her closet for 200$ more than the other one.
Aug 05Reply
jmevitali
jmevitali I questioned her about it and she quickly deleted it. then she told me Lv goes up in price as time goes by so if I want it I have to pay 950$ so at that point I knew she was a snake. oh and that she had a bunch of offers for 950$. lol. then about a week later.
Aug 05Reply
jmevitali
jmevitali she sent me a msg saying that she is back in the city if I'm still interested. like what 😳 I thought you basically had it sold???. I told her I already bought one but good luck. is this a normal on here or do you think she was a scammer. I mean I was starting to think the bag was fake and that is why she wanted me to pick up. what do you guys think. sorry so long
Aug 05Reply
tootsiedog1
tootsiedog1 @jmevitali never never ever go somewhere for something or go off of Poshmark to buy or sell, you are protected against fraud as long as you do everything by the book! She was 100%a scammer if you had gone you could have been robbed. If she is still on Poshmark report her and they will remove her.💗

malmm92
malmm92 hi everyone! i’m sort of new here and hoping someone can give me advice. i recently had someone open a case citing damage. i’ve never had a case opened and didn’t realize there were photos, so at first i just apologized and agreed to a return/refund, premature on my part. then i saw the photos, the item was completely destroyed.
Sep 25Reply
malmm92
malmm92 continued- my gut tells me he had the same item that was horribly worn(peeling faux leather) and bought mine knowing he could get it for free by claiming his old one is what i sent. it was a brand new account and this was his first and only purchase. is there anything i can do? i received the return yesterday and it’s so bad that i have to throw it away.
Sep 25Reply
malmm92
malmm92 i saw that i can report a problem with the return, so i’m wondering if that’s what i should do or if it even matters. do i just take the loss? it wasn’t an expensive item, but i’m so upset that i was clearly scammed and it feels terrible to just have to accept it. this was the 3rd or 4th sale i’ve made and it put a bad taste in my mouth for poshmark.
Sep 25Reply
tootsiedog1
tootsiedog1 @malmm92 you need to contact Poshmark immediately and send them the original photos of what you sent and then photos of the one he sent you back and tell them what you think he did and let them know how upset you are. It’s too late because you accepted his return but you can at least have Poshmark tag his account 💗💗💗
Sep 25Reply
malmm92
malmm92 @tootsiedog1 thank you so much 🙏🏼 i’ll definitely contact support. i appreciate the help!

shitzkascloset
shitzkascloset The bag I lost was only a Dooney, but it is the feeling that goes along with being scammed that is the worst! It was a trade. We both had good trade histories. I’ve traded on posh since 2015. Never was scammed before.
Nov 09Reply
shitzkascloset
shitzkascloset Continued... She received my bag, NWT. She cut and scratched some of the leather and removed the tags on my Dooney and then put in a complaint to posh. I was horrified. The next day I received her package. It was empty. I was absolutely shocked. Posh would not get involved because it was a trade. I’ve been sick about it all weekend.🥺
Nov 09Reply
tootsiedog1
tootsiedog1 @shitzkascloset that is so horrible! Do you have the info to the person that scammed you? Can you list it here?
Nov 09Reply

rosmassre
rosmassre I feel like I got scammed 3 weeks ago. Purchased LV boots but under $500, so it doesn’t go To Poshmark first. Haven’t received my order. I have Sent 4 emails to Poshmark already. I get the same generic email from them that they will look into it and get back to me in 24 hours. Still nothing. Upset , I thought Poshmark backs you up. And if I go to her page, the listing has been removed. Don’t know what to do and so upset over it.
Dec 05Reply
rosmassre
rosmassre I am going to post this picture on my closet if that’s ok with you. This happened to me and upset Poshmark is not helping me. And I only do transactions through Poshmark.
Dec 05Reply
tootsiedog1
tootsiedog1 @rosmassre please yes put this post on your page. Did you purchase the boots? Did the post office show that they were delivered or do they only say that they are in transit?
Dec 05Reply
rosmassre
rosmassre @tootsiedog1 , hasn’t moved from the post office in 3 weeks. First email to Poshmark told me to wait until December 1, and then get back to them. Sent them an email every day since. I get the same generic response back from them. And why would the seller remove the listing?
Dec 05Reply
rosmassre
rosmassre I just went back and flagged every person that has tried to do a transaction with me through an email. Thank god I never responded to them. You are an awesome person, trying to help everyone out❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
Dec 05Reply
tootsiedog1
tootsiedog1 @rosmassre ok well there is one thing that Poshmark can not do, and that is charge you for goods you haven’t received. Only when it is dropped off to you and scanned by the post and that he has delivered it to your place of residence and you accept the order that is when you get charged. I once sent 2 Prada bags to the same person that bought them from me here on Poshmark and they were never seen again, Poshmark gave me the costs of the bags which they didn’t have to do. So they will take care
Dec 05Reply

shadow_wings
shadow_wings Other things to look out for: Do not text anyone asking for verification request. Red flags on an account include: Bad spelling or grammar. The items posted are stock pictures only and do not include pictures of tags or show any details. The account name is a bunch of letters & numbers. Duplicate posts. Using a lot of tags in an item, including name brands other than what the item is. Price too good to be true.
Feb 08Reply
shadow_wings
shadow_wings @3rdcoastthreds Do not e-mail anyone! If they send a link do not click on it because it could be malware. Also watch out for Phishing scams. If you get an email containing a hyper link, do not click on it. Log into your account separately, if there is an issue will see a notification.
Feb 08Reply
3rdcoastthreds
3rdcoastthreds Thank you @shadow_wings , I get super nervous about getting scammed especially since I am not familiar with Posh just yet. I've seen some pages selling a few things with nothing but stock photos which I thought was weird, great stuff to know. Thank you again! <3
Feb 08Reply
shadow_wings
shadow_wings @3rdcoastthreds It helps to look at other Posher's closets so you know what is normal. You can also ask the person to take a picture of a tag or UPC or ask for more pics. I sometimes look up UPC # or model # online to see if the item is legit. You can also ask a PFF to look at the item and tell you what they think.
Feb 08Reply
shadow_wings
shadow_wings A credible seller will help and not complain or pressure a sale. As a seller, if someone asks me for pics it really helps bc I may have missed something, so my listing is better if I add to it. Once I posted a small item. It sat online for over a month, no sale. Someone asked me to take a pic next to another item so they could visualize the size. I did, and the item sold in a few hours. So I really appreciate feedback.

vintagelove1975
vintagelove1975 They especially target NEW sellers, unfortunately. Sadly,if Poshmark finds you making "off site transactions"(and they monitor your social interactions) you WILL be banned. All for a scam in which will cause more trouble than you realize. I have heard horror stories.I got quite a few "offers" asking to email for "quick sale" and some sad excuses about WHY they NEED the item. Scam. So sad. BEWARE!!🖤

ambaldwin88 @143limited exact thing happened to me. Acted like an old person who couldn’t see- then wanted me to hold the item for an extra $50. I did and they sent me a fraudulent check for $1550 to see if I’d fall for it - now the police and PM aware aware of it 😎 Now I refuse to even send pics via email because I know exactly where it’s going! I reported the user and saw her back with a slightly different name just yesterday 🤦🏻‍♀️

tootsiedog1 @ambaldwin88 omg that’s horrific I’m so sorry. Don’t ever go off Poshmark to do a sale, you are completely protected by PM if you stay on here to make your sales. 💖

ambaldwin88 @tootsiedog1 there’s an *ambassador* selling knockoff Gucci & LV- how she gets away with it is 1) not putting the brand name in the listing, 2) keeping it under $500, and 3) saying “can’t guarantee authenticity”- but she says “NWT” on all listings and says it “comes with box, dust bag, and card” I can’t believe what people are willing to do! It’s a sharp learning curve when you don’t have a good group of PFFs! Now I’m an ambassador and want to help anyone who asks!

tootsiedog1 Yes the first two bags are fake I reported her. Don’t have time to go through her closet on the way to Rams game🏈

ambaldwin88 @tootsiedog1 omg I messed that up so badly! I thought my comments were in the bundle. Wow she went hard. But I have all the proof I need should PM try to start something. She openly admits and has sold swatched makeup. Perhaps now she will be more honest in her transactions. I do sincerely apologize about her behavior on the bag I tried to bundle and comment privately! My whole intention was to avoid drama and now here we are 🤦🏻‍♀️

jrmm110200 Hi, I just wanted to let people know that @marandachisholm might be a scammer because they stole six different photos that I have posted and listed on another website.I think this person believes they can get away with it because those listings aren’t posted on my Poshmark.I know that those are my photos because the background is the same that I use for Poshmark and the other website. I let people who have liked those listings to be careful because they might be a scammer.

jrmm110200 I just wanted to give an update that not only did @marandachisholm steal some of the photos I used from another website, they also stole photos from two other users who go by the usernames @upcyledangel and @haulace. I believe neither of them have accounts on Poshmark, but they do have accounts for other thrift apps. I think the person @marandachisholm is trying to scam people by using people’s photos from other thrift apps and posting them on Poshmark

jrmm110200 I reached out to two of the people to let them know that someone is using their photos and uploading them on Poshmark. I don’t know what else to do. I don’t want that person to keep using other people’s photos and try to scam people. If you go on marandachisholm’s account on Poshmark and click some of their images like the Urban Outfitters Brown Mini Dress and search image with Google lens, you’ll find that they stole other people’s photos from another website.

jrmm110200
jrmm110200 @tootsiedog1 Okay, I just reported this to Poshmark and the person marandachisholm has blocked me from commenting on the listings because I’ve been informing the people who have liked their posts to be careful because that person might be a scammer since they are stealing photos from other people’s items like mine and @solavished.

k_pannullo 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯!!!! THANK YOU! I can’t tell you how many times this has been asked of me! I’m far from naive, & of course, I knew something wasn’t on the up & up. I made Posh Support aware of what was going on every single time so others didn’t get scammed bc I know how convincing these people can sound. Yet, they never once responded back! I think that’s awful!! Looks like we’re on our own, so thanks so much for your post 🙏🙏🙏
