@blackdaughter should not tarnish at all. Proper care would be to avoid contact with liquids, including water. Take off when showering, sleeping, putting on makeup, or any time it may come in contact with chemicals of any type. I would say the worst thing for any plated rings is sweat so take off during workouts or working in the yard, etc.
