karens54 @humblethread we had friends for dinner on Sunday so I didn’t watch the Oscars. I do have them recorded though. I made roast beef and mushroom risotto. One friend brought a charcuterie tray and the other made Swiss shard with golden raisins and almonds which was fantastic. I made a cheesecake for dessert as well as one big cookie. @jenne70 sharing now

humblethread @karens54 Hahah pretty much. Basically you eliminate commonly inflammatory and problematic foods for 30 days and then slowly re-introduce them. No gluten, grains, dairy, refined sugars, legumes or alcohol. You basically have fruits, veggies, meat, fish, nuts and seeds. I typically stay away from grains and dairy - so that one isn’t as hard anymore - but the no sugar is seriously killing me this time 🤪😵

I would never do this for fun 😱😂 @jenne70 I didn’t notice until you said something! My likes are all in a super weird order now too. I noticed that you can “sort” them now - but it’s only by the same things as when you’re searching - not when they were liked - which is the way I’d prefer to see them. I hate these updates

One minute I’d feel great and then the next crash. I remember the first week being the hardest and they say it hits bad usually around day 4/5 - so I’m right on schedule 🙄😱 Today is the first day that I’m not too hungry tho and excited about what I’m eating.

Next up is Hunters for sure! @karens54 They did a really cool premier for it here - they told an old movie theater into a NYC old grind house and had themed drinks snacks and stuff, old taxis parked outside. The event was free - I tried to RSVP but tickets went right away.

jenne70 @karens54 it’s so good! Jason Bateman stars in a few episodes as well as directs them. A lot of great actors in the cast, I love Ben M’s character. Cynthia Erivo from Harriet is also in it, and incredible. It’s pretty harrowing, though.

Stores have been out of hand sanitizer for 2 weeks now - Trader Joe’s frozen section was empty everyday by about 3 even tho they restock everyday. I am immunocompromised and up until today hadn’t really taken it as seriously as I should. Feeling sick today and hoping it’s just allergies.

I’m really annoyed at my sons school district though, they have NO contingency plan for remote learning, though all the kids have laptops, so I guess my son will be home for at least 2 weeks without any coursework

It’s official now - the Mayor of LA announced that all bars, restaurants (except for delivery or take out), theaters, libraries etc. shut down til April 1st. It’s getting bad here and people aren’t taking social distancing seriously

Had to defuse an international escalation of epic proportions when Chloe, who is on lockdown in Paris was trying to guilt her sister into letting her stay with her and her boyfriend for 15 days. Trust me, nobody wants Chloe around for that much time. Crisis averted when Chloe‘s roommate’s parents told him that he couldn’t come home because they are older and don’t want him near them!

Employees are getting an extra $2.00 per hour and double time for overtime but with shorter hours there’s really no overtime. Oh, they always have chicken. No Whole Foods near me.

Basically you shouldn’t be put unless it’s “essential” - grocery store, pharmacy, doctor/vet stuff etc. People mistook this as it means it’s vacation time and still are not listening

humblethread So as a result - yesterday they shut down the beaches and parks etc. They’ve been encouraging people to get out and exercise outdoors - walk around the neighborhood, walk dogs, get air - but instead everyone flocked to the beach and the desert. Joshua tree was packed and residents were so angry everyone in LA is just crowding their small town 🙄

My stepdaughters in Paris have been on lockdown and if they have to leave home for non-essential reasons they have to fill out a form and submit it to the city. There is also a 600 Euro fine for anyone caught outside in a group. I made a French flan yesterday. For dinner tonight I'm going to make Italian sausage but not sure how yet. karens54 It's a collection of short stories and I'm enjoying it. There is a Netflix documentary on him and that's what made me find his books. Because I'm usually home, I'm doing okay. My husband isn't traveling so that means he isn't working but he's not bugging me too much...yet :) My dogs seem to realize that something is different, Gino stays especially close to me but that could be his age. karens54 made an offer which I accepted. Payment failed. 2 days later she made another offer, I accepted. Failed payment. This pattern went on for almost 2 weeks. Finally she bought them and I sent them the next day. She didn't accept them but I got paid. Yesterday she gave me 3 stars saying they weren't size 26 because they didn't fit her. LOL They had the tag on which says 26. I'm thinking the girl has probably eaten all her quarantine snacks ;)

And I’m also reading elenor oliphant is completely fine - in an effort to keep me from reading too far ahead in the book club book 🤭 I’m glad everyone is holding up ok so far. Mookie my shepherd mix definitely knows something is up - but my shih tzu is so happy she’s getting extra cuddle time.

The guy in the meat department at BJ's told me to come back tomorrow BEFORE 8:00 a.m. as they will restock chicken & meat overnight.
