kelly_glover @missellescloset wasn't sure if you ever got an answer, these are appliques or simply put "patches". she states in her description "embroidered patches" but no one can seem to find out if they are sewn on, glued on, or how they are adhered. hope that helps answer your question. they are lovely looking!
