@c_green82 Versace jewelry is not solid gold dear they do use high quality metals as a base and they cover their jewelry sometimes in gold. This one is covered in 24k gold which is why it must be kept out of moisture and stored properly to keep the gold looking its best.

@stellaflore hello dear I hadnโt decided on a price for this piece yet. It cost around $2,500-2,600 I believe and it was rare and sold out in stores and online. It is a coveted piece from Versace since it was also in magazine editorials. Itโs a beautiful piece, I only rarely wore it. I donโt mind hanging onto it, Iโm in no rush to sell.
I am considering offers as I do on all of my items listed here on posh. The highest bidder will get to take this lovely piece from my collection.

I know the history of all of my pieces as I hand select each one. Please keep in mind that this piece was worn in an editorials for Versace, it has also been worn by Bella hadid and lady Gaga. This gem is near vintage aged. This piece is a show stopping, extremely heavy weight, and is extremely extremely rare. I wonโt accept less than full retail price considering posh 20% commissions fees and taxing.

@butterflykissiz hello beauty Iโm not sure what itโs underlining metal is because it does not say however the sales representative told me it looks to be 24k coated. Since itโs costume jewelry it doesnโt have markings. When I wear it in to see my jeweler, they always ask me if itโs real gold ๐ I have a 24k solid gold chain and it matches my chain color.

@butterflykissiz If you do your research or you will find facts and information regarding Versace using real gold to plate their top quality metal material on costume jewelry which adds to its weighted feel and luxury. I have quite a few Versace chains since Versace is one of my favorite brands and Gianni Versace was my favorite designer ever! This chain is extremely heavy in weight and is very gaudy you will feel like Run DMC wearing it. It is a very big statement piece.

They also have a โresel priceโ the original price was $1300 before tax and being as it was extremely extremely difficult to get since it sold out, most collectors wonโt even sell them.

@butterflykissiz Versace knew how popular these chains were and so they released the shiny polished version in about 2018-2019 but the matte gold one is the OG one and it is the most popular since it was actually worn on the Versace Runway and its coveted by most celebrities. Being as this piece is near vintage itโs value only increases and will continue to increase.

@butterflykissiz I do own a couple of LV pieces of jewelry and I know they tend to use brass a lot or solid brass, but honestly this Versace chain doesnโt have that brassy look it looks more like 24k plated (it does not have that brass smell) if you know what I mean...

@butterflykissiz Also reason for it being a bit higher priced is to allocate for the resell value but also it includes a 20% markup to account for that hefty posh fee I have to pay for each sale. Unfortunately I would be willing to go a little lower on the price but cannot due to posh fees and C corp corporate taxes I pay for my reselling business ๐

Hello again friend, we wanted to circle back to your original inquiry as we found further information for you on this treasure! Itโs measures approximately 18โ not including the clasp and it is indeed 24k gold plated. However, we are uncertain of how thick the plating is because we could not find any information on that aspect anywhere.

The thickness of the links are approx.
(1โ x 1โ H) each Cuban link
While the two smaller Medusa head medallions on Left and right are approx. (2.5โ W x 1.5โ H)
With the giant Medusa medallion front and center is approx. (3.5โW x 2โ H)
This necklace does have its original box/packaging if you wish to have it we can include it with purchase. It also has its authenticity card from Versace.
