Ceil Chapman was a New York seamstress who made a name dressing Hollywood stars from Marilyn Monroe to Elizabeth Taylor. Her satin bodice gowns sell for up to $1000 today and feature in museum collections. This was discovered in a thrift shop on the Upper East Side and fits a frame with small but sharp curves. It is magical 💃
Off-the-shoulder with some damage to the underarm. Hook intact. Hem frames in a bow.

@vtgobsessed The seam is split neatly and can be repaired. I can send you photos of it if you'd like.

@xilamonster Waist and bust measurements?

Hi, I’m not sure how to message you directly but what is the measurement across the waist? Thank you

xilamonster
@prevostjoe I'm not sure exactly. I used to wear it when I was about a 24" waist and it was tightly fitted. The waist is definitely the smallest part and contains boning. If this still works for you, I will accept your latest offer.

@xilamonster Thank you for getting back to me, I love it but it’s just too small.

Yeah it's tiny. That's how I got such a good deal. Women were starving themselves back then.

Hi! Could you measure the bust and waist for me? Also, could you post a front-on picture of the draping around the bust? Thank you!
