OBVIOUSLY NOT FOR SALE. My previous posts on lululemon align fakes were taken down because the scammers were trying to silence me from letting you guys know that you’re being scammed. So Posh took their side and deleted my posts that would help others looking for authentic lululemon aligns. Therefore, I’m making this and trying to explain as best as I can how you can spot fakes. Please pay attention to @laylavubecker post on how to spot fakes in general. BEST POST EVER. The info is amazing!

marrisanichole I purchased a pair of aligns today on merc that might be fake. I paid A LOT for them but the same girl recently posted them on here now too. The size dot reads LW5AMOSZ40218. I think I may have been scammed. Is there a way to tell if they are fake by the numbers on the size dot?

ngocnguyen1994 @marrisanichole hmmm that’s very interesting. The information you gave me for the size dot, you need to go to a site called lulufanatics and put in W5AMOS in the search bar. When you put that in, that’s actually the style code for the Train Times 7/8 Pant, not aligns??? It does match to a lululemon item ... just not aligns!

She also deleted and took down the picture of the size dot shortly after I asked for it. One girl messaged me and said she thought they might be fake because the stitching in the back didn’t have the “v” shape that aligns normally have.

marrisanichole . I’m not sure if this girl sold me fakes, or if she’s just uneducated on the different styles lululemon sells. I still have the opportunity to cancel the sale tonight before she ships them out tomorrow so I’m trying to do as much research as I can while I still have the chance to get my money back.

ngocnguyen1994 @marrisanichole you are right to be suspicious then! DONT TRUST SELLERS WHO REFUSE TO PUT UP PICS OF THE SIZE DOT! Or upload and then delete like that. All of that seems super shady. I would honestly recommend you cancel the order if you can ASAP. This is unfortunately a very real thing happening these days. :( I’ve been seeing more and more every single day and it’s being sold everywhere! I feel really bad for unsuspecting buyers!

nnhinguyenn @ngocnguyen1994 this is somewhat random but related, but do you know if there are fakes of other legging styles besides Aligns, or even non-leggings like shorts and tanks? Obviously aligns are super super popular so I get why there’s so many fakes floating around, I’m just curious if we should be this cautious towards other styles. Always better to be safe than sorry, but I feel annoying when I ask the seller for like a million different things for a pair of older ATRP, for example 😅

ngocnguyen1994 @nnhinguyenn YES! I have seen Wunder Unders and define jackets. But primarily aligns and WU are the main ones you have to look out for! The fake define jackets are sooooooooo obviously fake that I’m surprised people can’t tell by the design but there are tons of them in selling sites. Those are the ones I know of for sure since I collect aligns and define jackets. As for other items, I honestly wouldn’t put it past the scammers. :/

ngocnguyen1994 @janmonse hi there - lululemon used to make their size dots with just a size number. :/ so for those types of size dots, it’s really hard to determine. It depends on how familiar you are with lulu fabric and materials in order to see if it’s authentic or not. I have seen fakes with only a size number for the size dot but it could also be an older lululemon item. :(

ngocnguyen1994 @janet20j hi there! I think you might misunderstand! The size dot code isn’t specific for a color. The W part tells you the length of the leggings (for aligns) and the number part is the release date. I’ll tag you in a post that explains it! What I do to figure out color is to first put the W code into lulufanatics, then it’ll tell you the possibilities for the color. After that, you just pick out some colors that might be the correct color and look up old posts for size dots of those colors!

ngocnguyen1994 @kaylanicole1813 are you sure that’s authentic? Because lululemon doesn’t use spandex. If there are any rip tags that say the composition is something “spandex” it’s a fake. But if you want to post pics of the jacket, I can check it for you and make sure. Lululemon uses Lycra elastane not spandex :/

But there’s something off with the logos - they might also be very old lululemon items but something’s off with them. So I understand why you think that. The third one (pink scuba) is just an older lululemon item I think originally released in 2012 (W4A60S this is the code I put into lulufanatics).

jayhope5 Hi I just bought a paid of align 25. They’re like an adobe color. I’m concerned they’re fake so I found your post. The size dot reads: 00000LW5BOBS.0419.0000Z4. None of my other aligns have that long of numbers and letters in the size dot. They’re really nice but feel a little silkier that’s my others. ngocnguyen1994 @kelseagail yes I agree there is definitely a lot of that happening. I’ve had instances myself of people stealing the pictures of the aligns I posted in order to scam others. It’s rampant. No matter how much research you do, there’s a possibility of getting scammed because the scammers will either use other people’s pics of real aligns or just post 1-2 pics only. Honestly at this point I’d recommend buying directly from lululemon.

You can tell they are fake b/c the tag is in the wrong spot, looks wrong, they are made with spandex, and the style code doesn’t even exist on lulufanatics. I just purchased a pair of aligns that are in transit to me but when I plugged in the dot number on lulu fanatic, there’s no info. Does that mean they’re probably fake? The tag also looks slightly different than the aligns I have at home.

It’s the type of rip tag that I see a lot in international releases - whenever I buy lulu in a different country, that’s what the tag looks like. However, there is something about that size dot that the font looks really off to me. Like the letters/numbers are much thicker and the font is different than a normal size dot... so honestly I’m a bit confused. :/

ngocnguyen1994 @fwu215 at this point I’m leaning more towards they are real. Mainly because if the tag is international in the pics, then it wouldn’t show up on lulufanatics since that site only works for US releases, not in other countries. So yeah I think that’s the best way. You’ll know for sure if you have a fake - the fabric is completely different. :) good luck! If you need any further help after you get it, just let me know! :)

fwu215 @ngocnguyen1994 Hi! I got the aligns today and I feel like they’re fake. Ugh. The logo looks off, the material feels more silky and doesn’t stretch like my other aligns. It’s also like an inch smaller at the ankle. The stitching in the inner pocket also looks different than all my aligns. Can I create a post and tag you to show you? The tag material looks real but it’s like one and a half times larger than normal.

rawrchel Hi @ngocnguyen1994 - I’m also a Nguyen-er :) I just purchased a pair of aligns on MC and I wanted to know what color you think it is. I checked the align tag on lulufantics there’s a bunch of greys that were released by then. The photo is the leggings next to graphite grey aligns. The size dot says LW5AYSNSZ40417. Thanks in advanced for your help!

ngocnguyen1994 @emiholland3 I would need the size dot! I see you already requested but they haven’t done it?? I tried looking up that pattern on lulufanatics but they don’t have leggings with that pattern that looks like the ones in the listing. So honestly I’m not sure... :/

klindsay286 @emiholland3 It looks like you’ve already taken down the post about the pants you were wondering about, but I just wanted to offer my 2 cents about the logo placement - I have a few pairs of skinny wills (circa late 2013/early 2014) that are very high rise pants but have the logo on the back lower leg. Lulu actually used to do that a lot in older styles (and often the pants are reversible and one said has the logo on the waistband, the other side on the leg.

klindsay286 I’ve been seeing aligns posted with silver markings, almost like a sharpie, inside the waistband and/or on the size dot - does anyone know what that’s about? It seems kinda strange and maybe a bit fishy?

efccloset_3 @ngocnguyen1994 you’re awesome. Just tried tagging you in 2 listings. The info tag is red, and the other side is like a buttercup color. However other listings from these same two people show info tags with all black.

ngocnguyen1994 @efccloset_3 they both look good and authentic. The price is very high though - considering that one pair (the speed up crops) is older (released in 2016) and the other pair was on sale a couple months ago. If you want to get it, please negotiate price with seller because I do think that it’s overpriced (IMO). :) good luck!

I can’t tell by just the size dot alone since two colors can have the same size dot code/style number! If you can do that and tag me, I’d be more than happy to help! Like I said this is not to be rude but when selling fakes it’s appreciated when that’s transparent. Also lululemon has never put spandex in their aligns new or old. Have a great night!

It’s been split 50/50 on if they’re fakes when I ask others. Tag is black and looks hand sewn, in the middle of the seam line. Can you please help me verify if they are authentic.
