Like and save for later
More examples of the series laid out thus far—mostly from now, other platforms. PRICE! Again if you think you’re going to pay $30-some dollars for NWB Authentic Birk’s—hope you like supporting China.😬Note Chinese writing on pic #2–that disappears when you open it (pic 3)—which btw are NOT even Yara. 353 views/day & 83 sold of just 1 of these. Box (pic 11-13) says “Patent” which those sandals are NOT. Either won’t show footbeds or if can see them—sizes are WRONG! (pic 15) EU 37=L6 M4 (NOT 5).

iluvatm Thanks so much! People should be honest. There are actually folks out there who don't mind wearing knockoffs. They would still get business. But it's not nice to deceive

botablu @iluvatm Hi! Completely agree. If folks want to buy/wear/sell sandals similar to Birk’s—have at it! Just don’t sell fakes & call them Birkenstock’s. And that’s why I do this—hope to have at least a small impact on the crook’s businesses. Thanks for the note! ☺️

simplyhannahjo Thanks for posting this. I just looked at the ones I got last year off here and they’re fakes. I’m so fucking pissed.

botablu @hannjo93 Oh no!! ☹️ Well if that seller’s still at it, least maybe you can report them now..? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Know that doesn’t solve it for you, but least maybe can make an impact moving forward. Sorry to hear it but least now you know what to look for too!

ahl23 Thank you for your post! I never knew there is such a thing as fake Birkenstocks! I am looking at a pair and the footbed says “Birkis” not Birkenstock. That makes it fake, right?

botablu @ahl23 Hi. You’re welcome! No, Birki’s are just a sub-collection—just as Papillio’s are as well. Birki’s tend to be a more cost-effective option. Birki’s are hardly sold on Birkenstock’s site—not sure the exact story there—only the rubber clog style anymore.

kmpeach1 Sizing confuses me. I bought a 39, but just a bit too small. Some show size as 39 5.5 - is that a valid size? I messaged a birkenstock rep and they said no. So. what does the 5.5 mean after the actual 39 or 40 size shown? TKS
May 14Reply
botablu
botablu @kmpeach1 Hi. You’re probably looking at the UK size which most don’t mention but if you’re seeing 5.5 in re: to a 39 that’s what they’re referring to.

botablu
botablu @kmpeach1 And a Birk rep should have been able to figure that out. 😳😁

kmpeach1
kmpeach1 @botablu I know right....so I searched again on Poshmark and found a UK size as 40 7.0. I've seen many sandals with this type of printed sizing, but I still don't get it? Oh well, I probably should just give up. I even went to Nordstroms to try some on for sizing. Found the 39 in the plastic version of Arizona's to be a perfect fit. But when I bought the Gizeh's at 39, they were too small. TKs for your quick response!
May 14Reply
botablu
botablu @kmpeach1 No—you’re confusing EU size (38, 39, 40, etc..) with UK size (5, 5.5, 7, etc..).
May 14Reply
kmpeach1
kmpeach1 @botablu Oh, I see, THANKS for pointing that out! Now, I get it.....so the birkie rep should certainly have known that some of the sandals have both EU and UK sizing imprinted. You are a wise one! LOL

betsygizmo
betsygizmo Can you please explain the difference between real vs fake soles? Thanks
Jun 26Reply
botablu
botablu @betsygizmo Hi. It would be easier to show you but I’ll have to see if I have pics. Sometimes the size/spacing is different with the checkered pattern. It may not have the “Birk” inscription. The fakes have gotten much better with this though too.

tjwalker_44 What I need to do to purchase some?
Aug 04Reply
botablu
botablu @tjwalker_44 If you’re asking how do you purchase from us, just click on our username and you can see the ones currently available at botablu. Helpful to use the filter option and select Birkenstock brand since my closet is fairly large. Selection is somewhat limited at this time since it’s end of season.

nirvanasutra Hi I just came across your Authentic vs Fake series. Awesome information! I am fairy new at this and am trying to sort these things out for shoes and handbags. 🤯 You’ve no idea how much something like this helps! Maybe you could do one on Coach and Dooney and BOURKE ??? (she asked hopefully!) Are allowing this information to be shared? With proper citations of course. Thank you so much!🥰

annechang59
annechang59 Hi, those Birkenstock with yellow/ gold writing on the footboard are all fake? Thanks
Apr 04Reply
botablu
botablu @annechang59 Hi. The ones that I delineate that are fake, are. But doesn’t have to do with the color—if that’s what you’re asking.
Apr 04Reply
annechang59
annechang59 @botablu The Birkenstock I purchased from Nordstrom or their website the writing on the footboard are always black or blue (for soft footbed), that’s why I am questioning about those yellow writing. thanks
Apr 04Reply
botablu
botablu @annechang59 No, there are some authentic Birk’s that have yellow writing as well.

sumralljane
sumralljane Hi, I purchased some “Birkenstocks” (?) on Poshmark. They looked like they passed all of the authenticity tests, but the foot logo is on the left side of the size and there is no metric size listed under the Euro size. Are these definitely fake or is there something I’m missing?
