Good Morning,
BJ jewelry is similar to Kate Spade for quality & longevity if "properly stored." These brands use a coating of silver or gold over mixed metals, depending on the Setting colors. This is a common practice in higher-end costume jewelry.
They advise to remove jewelry if in water, not cleaning in jewelry dips, not sleeping in them, & not cleaning with harsh cleaners. I am sure so the coating stays on.
