wanderingzebra Does the tag say Downton Abbey? And was the clasp replaced?

msneverending1
msneverending1 @wanderingzebra The clasp has not been replaced, it is the original clasp & yes it does say Downtown Abbey on the square metal tan at the end of the extension on the necklace.

wanderingzebra @msneverending1 Thank you! Not vintage but still beautiful! Must be from the TV shows line.

msneverending1 @wanderingzebra I got this at an Estate Sale 4 years ago, It did not come from a TV line.
Feb 05Reply
msneverending1
msneverending1 The Estate Sale tag was from an elderly (80 yrs old) woman & her 72 year old sister at The Estate sale who said her sister bought this necklace over 40 years ago.

laerwyn
laerwyn @msneverending1 @wanderingzebra is correct! Downtown Abbey is a made up place for a TV show that began in 2010...and the lobster clasp wasn't invented until the mid 90s. The lady you bought it from was mistaken. Selling something as vintage that isn't hurts the vintage market.

msneverending1 I had a complaint stating that this could not be called Vintage & she further stated the lobster claw clasp was not “invented until the 90’s” If she had bothered to actually look up the correct facts on the lobster claw clasp was first used in the 1970’s & this necklace was from the 1970’s and it is 51 years old it is considered a Vintage Necklace. Just wanted to set the record straight. Thank you.

msneverending1 The wanderingzebra even went so far as to set up another closet with no listings & a different closet name. I will not tolerate bullying from anyone on this platform & she has been reported to Poshmark.
