Want the “deal” of a lifetime? Yeah, me too 🙋🏻♀️
Unfortunately for all of us—it simply doesn’t exist. Too good to be true?—it likely sure is
So rule #1: buy from a trusted boot seller who knows, wears; lives & breathes boots
A trusted seller will honestly & accurately represent them; provide comprehensive pictures of the actual boots for sale; fully describe—including proper condition assessment; provide accurate measurements, & know their retail & fair market value.
And folks, please! beware of the plethora of scammer listings taking over. For more info, see our advisory regarding how to identify scammers.
We’ve included just a few examples of both folks who are doin it right… & quite a few who are not. Images will very clearly speak for themselves.
Bottom-line—as the old adage says: you will get what you pay for.
Questions? Love to hear from ya! 🤠

@barbaraalt Hi. You’re very welcome. It’s challenging with the very limited space we’re given to get into a lot of detail—which is why I tried to use pics to exemplify. There’s a myriad of situations as to why some boots that “seem ok.. aren’t.” It could be things like: replica’s—which I’m seeing more & more; the condition isn’t disclosed or disclosed properly; misinformation re: sizing/fit; pictures of what you’re actually purchasing aren’t included.. or all angles aren’t provided…and so on…

@barbaraalt Boots with holes in the soles are simply from wear. I don’t have any issue if someone wants to sell those.. some are worth putting money into to resole, reheel, etc. The issue I have is more about the transparency in the description. We, for example, sell some boots that have various wear/defects. But it’s fully disclosed—both in the description & reflected in the price.

@larkandlily Hi! Thanks! Appreciate that. 🙏🏻 And appreciate your comments as well. We sellers need to do the best job possible being transparent. I don’t think some understand or appreciate—or even worse: care—that it has a ripple effect on others when then buyers feel “burned” &—as a result—lose trust in us as a whole. The good news: there are many honest, trusted sellers. If buyers stick with them, all’s good!👍🏻

Love all your shoes & boots. Your photos are fabulous & creative in & of themselves. A decade ago, I wore my brand new Luccheses on a trip to Cali. Huge mistake, I wore them at the Salton Sea & the salt (and the yuck I stepped on getting to the water) ruined them. Put in my closet, never touched again. Do you think it would be worth having them restored? Thank you for your time!

@bohobyhope Hi! Thanks so much!🙏🏻 Greatly appreciate it. Yikes, that’s never good for a leather boots. Lol. It completely depends on their value, the type of skins used—as to how well they’d be amenable to being restored, and many other factors—as to if it’s worth it, snd/or possible. Did you purchase them from Lucchese?
Jul 25Reply

bohobyhope
@botablu ~ No, bought them from a local Western wear shop. I have an old pair of well worn Corral boots that look a million times better than the Luccheses. It didn’t help that they were chocolate brown, because the salt was especially unkind to the dark shade. These days, I mostly wear Birks. Much more comfortable. Glad to see you have those as well!
Jul 25Reply

botablu
@bohobyhope Yes, we have always carried Birk’s. They are great! If you decide to look in to it further, you can always call or send pics to Lucchese and see what they suggest.

bohobyhope
@botablu ~ Thanks for your suggestion! I’ll call them. I have my own Posh shop, but I focus on clothes & jewelry. I know precious little about selling shoes. Thanks again!

Would it be okay to buy seeming replicas or really cheap listings if I was only interested in buying for not actual decent, hard working shoes but just for wearing for the aesthetic?
Jul 10Reply

botablu
@1semicolonn That’s a personal decision. There’s a difference between boots that may resemble well known brand and styles and ones that are actual replicas like, for example the ones above that are replicas of the Double D’s and are straight from China. I personally would never purchase an actual replica & support those types of intellectual property thieves nor purchase from anyone who’s misrepresenting a replica as authentic.
