debbyjones717 Hello my friend, I’m the old lady with the garage full of belongings of a friend living currently in St. Petersburg...Russia. I heard from Lana, she had trouble with depression and her doctor must have filed a report but the government collected her and put her in a hospital in the middle of the mountains, took her phone, no tv and no newspapers of any kind no computers or internet. Just a library with government controlled books. Some of the children in our country should live ther 1 wk.

debbyjones717 Sorry began babbling and lost myself in anger. Lana has not called me just sent a message. She has a set of true silver flatware in a big wooden box like this set. It is one thing she specifically asked me to put aside as she wants it to take back. I had no idea of it’s value. I think it is a 12 place setting with extra serving pieces. I know because I spilled it over.

debbyjones717 Is it alright to touch it when putting it away without worrying about fingerprints and tarnish. Also it’s in the garage and it’s humid.. I thought of all of the cute bracelets and rings it would make if she didn’t want it☺️I didn’t know it was costly. I just knew she specifically asked for it I may need your email address when she comes home to NC

stormtreasures @debbyjones717 Hello our friend...if the Sterling Silver Place Setting Set is highly polished it is essential that you not touch it without wearing white cotton gloves. Even if the set has not been professionally polished one should never touch the pieces because the oil from your hands could leave fingerprints which may never be able to be buffed out--even by a professional polisher. We'll keep all of you in our prayers. How is Lexi doing?

debbyjones717 You are so kind to answer questions that I ask. I know that I’ve never met you both but you’ve taught me much about a world I know nothing about. I feel like if I have to liquidate Lana’s things to help her with her expenses I feel I can trust you. So I will try to see if I can keep you in a favorites list. (Do I just polish my fingerprints off the silver or can I use a jewelry cloth?

stormtreasures @debbyjones717 Hi Ms. Jones--If you are able to purchase a jeweler's polishing cloth, that should prove to be a good way to remove fingerprints and oils from your skin. It is best to do this as soon as possible because sometimes the oils will stain the Sterling and prove to be very difficult to remove. When that happens a professional polisher will need to buff out the marks on a wheel. All the best, Deacon Ricky.

princesskrebs I have 5 place settings of this silver. Why would you think it is sold for so much less on Etsy?

stormtreasures @princesskrebs Hi, if we did not have a complete set of this tablewear, or the original chest in which it was shipped, we'd sell it for about scrap price as well. You can't compare apples and bananas; a complete set of sterling tableware plus serving pieces will always cost more than the price of some pieces that are basically only good as replacements.

princesskrebs @stormtreasures thank you. I was a bit disheartened by the prices listed on Etsy

ragstagsales Gorgeous condition. I notice the box is branded Reed & Barton but this pattern is by Wallace. In one of the comments, you mention the box is what it was shipped in so I was confused. To my knowledge, the companies have not had common ownership. I imagine this is not the original box?

stormtreasures @ragstagsales Hi, thanks for checking out our closet and liking our Wallace Sterling Silver Place Settings. This set was purchased at an Estate Auction in the Southlands. Unfortunately we did not have a Wallace Silver Chest to offer it in, however we did have a Reed and Barton Silver Chest in one of our stores.

stormtreasures @ragstagsales Employing good old.fashioned American Ingenuity we placed the Wallace pieces in that chest. Please note, we are selling the Wallace Silver, the chest is simply a container we've used to House and Display the pieces. We thank you for your astute observation and wish you and yours all the best of the good Lord's blessings now and always, Deacon Ricky and Storm.

ragstagsales @stormtreasures The posts claims the chest is included, but your last message says you are only selling the silver. Is the chest included and is it branded Reed and Barton or Wallace? Thank you for clarifying.
