missstephlee @jeweltreasures 10 parts gold out of 24 parts = 10k . 10 parts gold and 12 parts other metals melted together. 10 parts is less than half of 24. That’s how gold is rated… 24k is 100% gold. 18k is 18 parts gold and 6 parts other metals 14k is 14 parts out of 24, etc. You can Google it if you don’t believe me. Also, a freebie…“white” gold isn’t a real metal either and doesn’t exist except as a description of rhodium plated over the yellow (mixed metal) gold.
