papirbyrd @lisaslovelies definitely cant rush this type os fabric, youre right. i have also found that electric scissors dont do you any favors either. the silk wants to pull along with them and you end up with a zigzag cut all the way down. slow and steady with your sharpest sheers wins this race! have you made anything with your ES silk?

lisaslovelies @papirbyrd have not yet made anything with the silk! Still trying to decide if it will be a dress, top, pants, belt, etc. sometimes I use the Olfa rotary wheel to cut fabric on a mat. Thank you for your excellent advice to use a new sharp blade! I just made a linen wrap top from JoAnn’s fabric. It’s a free pattern from In the folds. I luv it !!!

adamtmarsh @papirbyrd Her website lists the linen for $195. I would be a medium short according to her measurements, but maybe even shorter haha! If you have the time and want to sew another pair, we can discuss price/measurements/design. If we come to an agreement, I think it would be really cool to have something handmade!

papirbyrd @adamtmarsh im down for that:) i have already made a pair of 1/2 white/flax linen florence shorts for myself. right now im working on some custom garments for a few other people due by the end of Sept for a wedding, but we can definitely keep in touch about this and come up with a plan around that time.
