The original Dooney waterproof leather. This is the thick leather with substantial brass detailing. The closure is a keyhole shape brass plate. There are some pen marks in interior and will look beautiful with some cleaning. A dark cream color with Dooney trim in vintage condition. Great little bag.

delaneydix @cohenmax I’m so sorry I forgot to reply!! I do not have a tag on this bag for some reason - but my other bags have white tags with red and blue stitching. Rivets do have Dooney & Bourke on them. My mother’s aunt worked in Connecticut offices. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

brianna_lopiano The reason there might not be that red and white authentication tag present is because prior to 1985 (I believe) - definitely beginning of 80’s : 80, 81 etc Dooney and Bourke did not have these tags present in their bags it wasn’t until later on that they began sewing them into their bags.

brianna_lopiano Check under the flap pocket, idk when they started doing this but there are stickers that have the model number on it and some other information. A lot of times they fall off over the years and I’m not sure if one this old would have it, but it wouldn’t hurt to check!

brianna_lopiano Also the way the straps are attached to the bag, by a brass clasp rather than the fold over button snap- screams very early/vintage Dooney
