feuereissen Love these boots. Bought them in the fall of 2006. They started cracking and peeling due to age about 4 years later. It just started on day when walking in them... For the price just wanting to check how old these are.

tdcolorado Hi there. Oh they are old! I am not sure about the exact year but 2006 sounds right. I got them at Macy’s, not on sale, the first time I saw them there and have been in my closet ever since :D

feuereissen @tdcolorado Thank you for getting back! Could you put them in and walk around a bit and see if there is any dry rot (cracking, peeling and flaking). Seems common with this material. Definitely interested in purchasing. Thank you again- Dani

tdcolorado @feuereissen Hi. I wish I could walk around in these boots but I injured my foot and can't walk in anything over 3" anymore. I can take them out again later, bend them, twist them and look for any cracks or issues, stuff with paper, then take another picture. These did not get regular use. I seriously, only wore them a few times for a few hours in really cold, dry conditions :D

tdcolorado @feuereissen Did as requested and sure enough, now there is cracking in one spot on one boot and some starting on the inside of both boots. If I was keeping them, I would treat the boots for prevention.
