It’s not meant to be be ‘body hugging’ — as you’ll see on the model the gathered fabric throughout the waist once the belt is secured. That’s the style / design. However, as per the designer details, it’s true to size.

theuniquebuy@caroline9715 hi again! It’s roughly 19:5” as seen at the front, so, that number x 2 = 39” for the waist circumference. As mentioned, don’t be frightened by those numbers, as the design is like a “shirt dress” for which the belt is used to secure for a more fitted appearance

The dress is designed to have that ‘oversized’ look which is evidenced by the pleats as seen around the waist of the model. That’s just the design, but yes, double check to ensure which you believe is the better option for you.
