lanassister I wear an 81/2 which is sold out, plus I just bought a pair of Frye boots that were way expensive for me, but I liked these and honey I’m 74 and would wear almost anything in your closet!

lanassister I see you do have an 81/2 but you said to size down, so I guess you are sold out of a size 8.

martus @lanassister Yes, that would be correct. I only said to size down half the size is because of somebody who purchased these and told me so. When I modeled them in my size I did not feel the difference. But based on her review I decided to make that statement. If you’re wearing these with the thick wool socks you probably can go the regular size. I’m sorry this is confusing.
