Sadly there’s a huge influx of scammers. Here’s a handy guide on how to spot them. Comment below if you have any tips as well.
1. USERNAME
Yes, some Poshers names don’t make sense. Lately I’ve seen some gibberish names with numbers. I’ve seen scam accounts with male names and a closet full of women’s bags. Yes, I know men can sell women’s items. And yes, the name can be a woman’s as well.
2. NAME & PROFILE PIC
I’ve seen posts of a man’s name and profile photo of a celebrity/influencer, usually female. Or it’s a stolen photo of the item they’re listing.
3. RECENT ACCOUNT CREATED
When did they make their account? Was it in recent months?
4. LOVE NOTES/REVIEWS
Scam accounts won’t have any love notes.

I’ve started to notice these scam accounts also. I’m just wondering how is it that posh is allowing so much of these unverified accounts to set up closets
Or why they are doing this in posh in particular
I don’t thing other sites have the same issue to the extent that posh does.

Im thinking that these scammers are targeting customers who buy outside of the USA with mail forwarding, as their posh protect runs out after 10 days, which is not enough to cover them if the package take 15 days to arrive to its destination 🤔

@cococuriosities I think they’re just trying to target anyone. I don’t know the statistics, but is there a lot of buyers outside the US? It seems like these scammers are located in Asia. Their posting schedule is at night when the US would be asleep. I wonder if they’re using a bot to create these scam accounts?
