This is a new type of scam going wildly now. What these scammers do is that they copy a sold listing (pictures + description), sell this item and ship. But they ship smith else to a different address with the same zip code. It shows “delivered” on your end when, in fact, they sent a postcard to a restaurant nearby. Or - they ship Amazon socks or an empty envelope to your address. While you try to figure out when you ordered socks (while still awaiting for the package) or throw away the envelope and not connecting the two, the 3-day period passes and they get paid. There might be more “approaches” but these are the ones that I have heard.
It is brand new accounts. These fake sellers usually have ONE listing available (but recently they started creating more than one to make it seem legit). If they do not have “love notes”, please be diligent. To test it whether it is a true listing or a scammer listing :
1) copy title and put in the search and choose “sold”. The same sold listing would pop up. Recently they started making changes so that it may not be that easily found.
2) request to add some more specific pictures of the same item. Ideally: with a piece of paper stating today’s date. A fake seller won’t be able to do it as they don’t have the item.
3) please pay attention to who is responding to your questions. What I see is that they respond from another profile - it takes time to log out and log in to another fake account. They are cutting off time like that.

@pufik - regarding the Julie listing

@rosela_bazzi Sorry to hear that you lost money! it is never good to take a transaction off Poshmark. That scam has been there for quite a long while, but this one is pretty much brand new.... oh well.

Thank you!!! They stole TWO of my listings word for word. SO annoying.
Nov 09Reply

sassygals247
But labels are pre-printed how can they ship it to another address?
Nov 09Reply

southgo
@cowboyscloset In the age of photoshop, anything can be altered and an address can be replaced. It would not be difficult to accomplish - especially for those who know exactly what needs to be done....

I think I just got hit 💔💔 ordered a khaite dress and items says delivered but nothing ever arrived in the mail wtf

I cannot believe that people are doing this. How sad for us real Agent lovers and sellers. I’m so disappointed that people are just ok with doing this. They say it hurts none but all of us (family) at Poshmark say it’s affects us one and all. Thanks for posting I will share with all. Xoxo Julia

Okay so the formula is:
❥ Force shipping carrier (USPS, etc) to report a fake confirmation of delivery
❥ Delivered status but no package received is confusing af
❥ Buyer tries to figure out where their package is really at
❥ Searching for the package takes up time and delays reporting an issue until it's too late...
◦☽⋆⊱┉ ᴄᴏʀʀᴇᴄᴛ‽ ┉⊰⋆☾◦
Has anyone who's been taken advantage of gotten help from Poshmark support?
Nov 12Reply

melizonte
Are the usernames in this listing scammers involved in this scam? Just wanna make sure we're not pointing fingers and to avoid them as I am an Agent Provocateur collector myself. :(
Nov 12Reply

southgo
@bloodspell Poshmark, in general, provides great protection to a buyer as long as one reports an issue within 3 days of delivery. But if a buyer misses this 3-day mark, then nothing can be done - as I understand it. But not to run chances to miss this 3-day period or waste time on this whole issue just to be later reimbursed, it is better not to be involved with such a listing in the first place :)
Nov 12Reply

southgo
@melizonte In my screenshots, “sold” listings are real and legitimate listings (sellers are legitimate, respectively). The ones that are “available” are scammers but these listings were already removed. I am pretty sure that their accounts are suspended as well. But as of this moment, there are two new scammer listings: "Agent Provocateur Hinda slip dress" and "Agent Provocateur Lorelli Set 32D”.
Nov 12Reply

southgo
@chrissynewton @goodbyeblues @deathlotus141 @mechanicalwomb @fanghuibb @alizakharov @valeriepalumbo you liked the listing of "Agent Provocateur Lorelli Set 32D” - just please take a look at the rules how to identify a scammer’s listing :)
Nov 12Reply

bloodspell
@southgo Recognizing these things in advance is always best, but scammers constantly change their listings to avoid detection.
If these people are editing shipping labels and Poshmark is automatically accepting the packages because time runs out, then Poshmark should be taking responsibility. The sellers are doing blatantly fraudulent things, so putting all the responsibility on buyers to constantly monitor their tracking updates is absurd.

update regarding my scam order: I spoke with the post office & they confirmed the address nor name on shipping label was mine. I believe they photoshoped the label with another name / address in the same zip code. I finally got in contact with PM via instagram DM. I think on IG is the best and fasted way to get in touch with them. They responded same day to my request whereas with email I have been waiting over a week for a response.

@sellagram 👍🏻
Nov 17Reply

sellagram
@fantasia711 I think I told you about this new scam running. they reprint the label with the same zip code but diff address and they ship an empty box. By the time the buyer realizes, 3 days past, the scam seller gets paid and the buyer has to fight for a refund. Take a minute to read all the BBB complaints. UFB. They refund so many buyers. But, the amount of money they make off these scammers is sickening.
Nov 17Reply

sellagram
Take a look at BBB complaints this past month. It is mind blowing. So many complaints about item 'delivered'. These sellers ship to the same zip code but a different house and they ship junk. By the time the buyer realizes, 3 days past, seller gets paid & buyer has to fight for the refund. Posh knows about this scam. I guess the profits off these scammers outweigh the losses. These scammers have taken over the site, basically. It used to be LV & Gucci. Now it's Coach, Agent P, Whatever makes $
Nov 17Reply

Nov 18Reply

@southgo hey, thanks so much for the warning! How are you able to tell it’s a scam?
Nov 18Reply

southgo
@katefranzese they used to copy everything: pictures/text without any changes. Now they are making some changes making it more difficult to find the original listing. But I just already see the pattern.Well, this Honey Birdette listing got sold - I would be happy if I am wrong but I don’t think the buyer will get it. And hopefully they will lose money

Dec 06Reply

southgo
@babyscloset and by the way, this AP robe listing is my personal old sold listing. They copied all pictures and the description word for word. You can just do "Step 1" and you will find it. The difference is that I sold mine for $500 but what these scammers do is that they put expensive items for a much cheaper price to entice people to buy..... If you are one of the buyers, you need to contact Poshmark to cancel the sale. You can send them the link to the old listing that they copied.
Dec 06Reply

babyscloset
@southgo you are so wonderful babe thank youuuu 👼🏼 I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you. Hi, Yulia. This posting is a great service. You rock! I'd also advise never to order when u plan to be traveling during the anticipated delivery time, esp when u don't know the seller & it's a big ticket item. I'm not only referring to porch pirates. I recently purchased a pre-loved LV bag which was delayed in shipping...
Jul 26Reply

joanieonie
...I had to rely on our teenaged son to look over the item so I could accept (I rated upon return). It worked out fine but could have easily gone south if it had been a switcheroo scam.
