Hand Sewn Pipili Chandua Applique Wall Hanging Depicting Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra. deities worshiped in regional traditions of Hinduism.
The Pipli Applique folk art owes its origin to Lord Jagannath culture during 12th century. The work is created in or near the village of Pipili in the state of Odisha in Northeast India.
The wall hanging is hand cut and sewn from cotton cloth and thread, and is embellished with embroidery, mirrors, and sequins. It measures 29 inches x 44 inches.
Excellent used condition. No holes or wear. The stitching is tight and the colors are unfaded. Please see photos for condition details.
