Hope someone didn’t buy these. These scammers are catching on. Trying to make pages look more legit. Removing multiple sizes in listing! Don’t buy from new accounts with listings that have multiple sizes. If too good to be true, likely it is! Look over the entire account!

@raerae2014 I know they won’t respond to me and I sent tons of photos proving it. It’s like they don’t wanna stop it. Very disheartening. Bunch ppl are losing their money and they don’t seem to care. Common sense isn’t kicking in apparently.

Thanks, will do! I appreciate the looking out for ur fellow poshers. Posts like these have saved me from making some costly mistakes and I know I’m not alone. Good lookin’ out, and good job getting the message out there!
cameliwv
@raerae2014 well hey, *if you want*, you can just give me the username and what to say and I’ll totally continue blowing up their page for you!! At least til I get blocked too haha. I would actually have 0 problem communicating 1 or 2 (or 15) messages to them for you because I loove calling out scammers, in all areas of life. No joke!

They are also, during Love/List Challenge, listing and winning and deleting their listings. I finally wrote PM recently when I looked through the winners list and there were 13 (THIRTEEN!) winners with no listings that looked like scammer accounts… the strange user names and “model” type photos. They replied saying that they’re working hard to make sure that users know and comply with the terms and conditions 🙄.. Did not even address the scam factor. So ridiculous!

So is this a scam? Cause I’m dying to get a pair of the coal boats and $88 seems way to good to be true
chellesscloset
@ashbryant444 yes that listing is. Doesn’t mean you can’t find cheap pair. Most aren’t new that cheap. 100-150 often find coals for.
chellesscloset
@katt_14 makes me so mad. They ignore it. They don’t seem to care.
katt_14
@chellesscloset I know! So annoying!! 😡

So will most of the scams have multiple sizes? I’m not familiar enough with listings to notice something off
chellesscloset
@sdc73 they did but now they see we caught on and started changing. Most are model type or stolen pics. New accounts. Mostly just have see if any completed sales and ratings. Then use your gut.

Thanks guys for the heads up never occurred to me scammers on Poshmark thank you so much for the tip off and let me know what to look for to ensure that someone is real

Thank you for sharing. I purchased some boots from a scammer. Then they deleted their account a few days after. I’m not sure how many more people they scammed but posh helped me and stopped the transaction after the package showed delivered . I’m not sure how they make it seem like the package is delivered. It’s frustrating- they might be putting the posh label on a small letter or flyer to make it seem legitimate. It’s frustrating.

Thank you so much for the warning. I had no idea.

So what’s the scam? If they don’t ship them, you get a refund and they get nothing. If they ship you something else, you get to return for a refund. The only benefit for then I can see is they get your address on a shipping label? Is there something else they get from this? I’m curious??

@x0kayla0x1
same question as above
curious????
new_life_resale
@x0kayla0x1 exactly!!! I’m not sure why sellers are being accused of being a scammer when you basically have to accept the pkg to approve the purchase. If you wait 3 days without then it still is on you. Doesn’t make sense.
chellesscloset
@x0kayla0x1 they often attach the labels to a piece of junk type mail. Something you’d discard without notice. If enough people do so and it’s been past 3 days before noticing, posh gas released funds. Most likely they’ve closed that account n moved to the next. It happens much more than you’d expect. And many have had it happen and had to fight to get funds returned. Many don’t.
chellesscloset
@layercakes answered below :)
chellesscloset
@new_life_resale that above is a scam. They create accounts. Use legit seller photos. Mark a used item in multiple sizes. Often they attach the label to junk type mail. It’s a numbers game. How many will toss and never realize. By the time you do, the funds have been released. They close that account and move to the next. It’s often a group of scammers. Many many reverse scams. I’ve had to deal with a lot with managing Freebird groups. Any high end item buyers are targeted.
chellesscloset
@new_life_resale first clue. It was new account they posted a $350 boot for $88 in multiple sizes. No one person has twenty pairs in all sizes. Also, freebird does not have half sizes. These scammers target any high end buyers. Using this method. They also usually have many going at once. It’s all a numbers game.
chellesscloset
@x0kayla0x1 there lots of reverse scams on f book in BST groups, couple types here and in other platforms. There a ton of red flags I’ve documented and used to warn my Freebird obsession members. They are often a group of people. It will get worse from now on until January. Always does this time of year. It can happen it does happen. I’ve had to help many who have been scammed. It’s sad but reality.
new_life_resale
@chellesscloset funds can’t be released if you do not accept the pkg and immediately file a complaint. Buy has 3 days before funds are released. I’ve been on here for 6 years now.

@new_life_resale
Despicable!!
x0kayla0x1
@chellesscloset oh okay that makes sense! That is terrible. I don’t get how people can be so awful. Thank you for explaining.
chellesscloset
@new_life_resale yes but if you don’t realize and don’t file before that three days window, it’s released. I’ve known many it’s happened to. In spell it’s tons of them that pop up. They use photos of actual sellers. Some have an easier time recouping funds. Main thing is reporting and getting them removed before Unexpecting buyers purchase.
chellesscloset
@x0kayla0x1 it’s bad at holidays especially. And sad. They busted a huge group of scammers last year that had a warehouse. They were purchasing high end items. Sending fake emails saying they’d paid. They had a warehouse full. I suppose to resell. We get lots of them that target ladies in the Freebird group. They offer to pay extra to send to a family member or friend. Send fake emails.
x0kayla0x1
@chellesscloset So sad and terrible. Im happy at least some of the got caught. It will catch up the them eventually but hopefully they change their ways.
syncyourstyle
Scammers suck! Thank goodness they aren’t paid unless the item is delivered.
toriavan
Ugh! It’s disgusting that there are those out there who have it in them to scam people on here who are trying to make a living or shopping on here cause they can’t afford to buy direct and new from the store… NO SOUL and Unbelievable
