I've been tasked with selling my angel parents' collection of African treasures they acquired whilst traveling and living in Africa. This is a piece they acquired in Ethiopia. It's a handmade folk art depiction of an angel. For anyone who does not know, Ethiopia is one of the cradles of Christianity and the Eastern Church. This Ethiopian angel is based on traditional Ethiopian Christian art. It really is a OOAK piece of functional African Folk Art. Besides being used as a throw pillow cover, it can also be put up on your wall, framed or unframed! Throw pillow cover measures 54.5 cm × 46.5 cm. My mom has made it a goal to fund girls' sleeping quarters for her high school in Isicheno village, which would eliminate the need for female students to make the very dangerous journey from home to school everyday. Previously she single handedly started a lunch program for starving children at the school, since students were so hungry, they couldn't learn, she enrolled countless girls into elementary school and high school, because girls are the last to receive an education in their families, if their family has the money to send one of their children to school. My parents have started, fundraised, funded, organized, and delegated unpaid, for the last 20 years or so, and any money made from this sale goes straight to their Kenyan school project.
