Hello fellow Poshers! Hoping some of you might be able to help me confirm the designer of this amazing Vintage 2-piece skirt suit. It was purchased in 1983 in a consignment shop, and was allegedly vintage at that time, so it might be originally from the 70s. (The designer’s label had been removed back then.) Based on the V shape in the buttons a fashion industry friend thinks this might be vintage Valentino, but I’m just not 100% sure. Does anyone have any ideas…? Please comment if you have any insight to share! I can provide measurements for anyone interested in this gem, but as I recall it is a size Small or XS. Thanks so much!!! nrsenae Valentino is from Rome, tags traditionally say made in Italy. The buttons are VERY similar to vintage Valentino buttons, however the “C”’s normally close around the “V”, forming an oval shape. I’m by no means an expert, just a shopping junkie, with a love for all things vintage. There could have absolutely been a seamstress in France/ design house tied to Valentino, which put out a line. I hope you find your answer!

nrsenae What does the zipper say? That may be your clue. The blank button above the zipper may have writing on the other side… odd that it’s not marked.

chicweek
chicweek Cotton twill makes me wonder if it could have a small UK/French label or a (luxury brand) shop uniform even? Particularly because of the simple tags and what appears to be initials on the tag (if they're from first owner). Crown over the V suggests French or UK brand using French manufacturing. Tags being in French and English also suggests this. Agree with first commenter that Italian brand is unlikely. Will pass along any break throughs! Would love to know! 🤓

adelhierro Hi! This is not Valentino. The crown and initials on the buttons look more like a (military or staff) uniform. Hope this somewhat helps.
