Fortunately, we have been blessed with a second rescue cat, Hazel, a calico Maine coon mix, who also chose us, not long after our first kitty's passing, which helped us a lot through our grief. May you find another special kitty when you are ready and may they choose you!

My uncle would put him in the grass across the street; the next morning, he’d be back in their yard. This happened 2 or 3 days in a row; my father let me take him 🏡 when we left. The vet aged him @ only 4-5 WEEKS & said to feed him formula for a week. (I did 2 just to be on the safe side.) He was only ½ a lb. & could stand in my 🖐 haha! 😀 He left me 16 years of sweet memories 🥰

armoiretreasure I'm so sorry. I laid mine to rest several months ago. She was 17. I had her since she was six weeks old. Towards the end of her life she had thyroid issues. Because of that her liver and kidneys weren't doing so well but what got her was a gum infection. Later it was cancer in the mouth. I also laid my German Shepherd to rest due to DM (Degenerative Myelopathy). I still miss them terribly. I still cry over them. Thanks for sharing a part of your cat with me.

zardiva1 @armoiretreasure You’re welcome 👍🙂 By the way, I got my baby around the same age as you got yours. I found him outside as a feral kitty, so I never could’ve known his *exact* birthdate, but the vet estimated his age at just 4-5 weeks when I brought him in. He was so tiny and only weighed about HALF of what 🐈‍⬛s that age typically do - ½ a pound instead of 1 pound. I’m glad I found him when I did so he could have a chance to make it 🤗

armoiretreasure That's a beautiful story. My tiny six week old girl became my princess. She was full of life. She jumped high on things til the end. I miss her but I have realized that she gave me a lot of years of her life. I'm very grateful for our time together.
