Such a beautiful and perfect post war wedding dress. You can tell from the utterly extravagant use of fabric this was from the WW2 fabric rations being lifted. A beautiful off white cotton brocade. Exquisitely made. Huge full skirt with a back petal over skirt. There is a hook on one side so I believe there was a bow that has gotten lost over the years but either have a satin bow made or just remove the hook. I should have done a better job laying out the skirt because I didn’t do it justice and another crinoline would make this pop to new look levels.
This has. 24” waist and I broke the zipper getting it on the dress form, so it does have to be replaced. Almost funny that the only damage is what I just did to the zipper. A beautiful and exquisite dress. Price reflects the need for a zipper replacement which should only cost you $25 at the seamstress or dry cleaners.

I love this dress! And the mint green one, but of course they are way too small for me. :(. If you ever have this type of ‘40’s, ‘50’s dress in a size 14 (understated not rockabilly) L/XL , I would be very interested.

@ymls I do find them. But they sell fast, unlike the XS/XXS ones that stick around forever. :).

@secondtroy they are so lovely.

@ymls I agree. It’s the most wearable moment in history I think for any shape as long as you can find it. When I used to make a clothing it was very much informed by the things I learned from collecting and wearing vintage clothing. 🌸🩷
