Very heavy book ends featuring LADY Pierrot clowns/mimes with a stone base most likely made by JB Hirsch no markings that I can find .. All my research says J B Hirsch ~ Circa 1920's. Lots of flaws on these pretties . MISSING HAND ( I was going to try and make one with resin and paint by making a mold of one hand but yeah I am never going to have time to do that plus I would be afraid I would cause more damage and then she would have no hands ) . Felt on the bottom very thin , little left . Almost no paint left on their faces but a tiny bit of red for the lips . Lots of chipping on the stone base and the metal figurines themselves see last 8 pictures for examples of what damage you will find on these ancient beauties . Measurements :~5.5" x ~ 4" on the base . soda can and ruler in pics above. to help visualize the size. . Had these forever moved so many times with them going to miss them . My research says "during the 1920s and 1930s, an entirely new modern style of decorative art emerged, using a combination of bronze and ivorine or celluloid (predecessor of plastic) . The ivory or ivorine representing exposed flesh and the bronze or spelter representing clothing. The combination of “French Bronze” (spelter) and ivory or ivorine were fully exploited during the Deco period " . Questions are always welcome The clowns are dressed in a very dark blue color family. Vase with flowers not included I have always displayed them when I had flowers with flowers .
