The Green Aventurine oval cabochons in these rhodium plated cufflinks look like natural jade. Set in scalloped bezels, each measure 18 mm x 25 mm. Green aventurine is translucent quartz that obtains its green color from a concentration of fuchsite inclusions. A majority of the green aventurine mined is in India, and also found in China and Vermont state. Aventurine comes from the Italian words a venture, meaning "by chance” which gives aventurine its nickname, "the Gambler's Stone." Ethiopian cultures used aventurine to make various tools as axes. Believing it would increase its powers, ancient Tibetans often adorned their statues' eyes with aventurine. ● Rhodium Plated: Rhodium is harder than silver, gold, and many other metals.
