Vintage 70’s-90’s Sailor Dress Rockabilly Swing Dance Yellow & Black Tulle Underskirt Lined size 9 What an amazing dress! Thoughtful details abound with this sailor collared dress, double breasted with cloth covered buttons and back invisible zipper. Can be opened from the front or back and is secured with a hook and eye closure at the back of the neck, and an inside button at the bust. This dress will twirl! A very rich material, has a cool sheen & weave, with the tulle skirt underlay and silky lining underneath the tulle. Fully lined inside. Thickly pleated waist. They used lots of material and it’s tight & secure. Please see measurements for fit since this is a vintage size 9. This was originally owned by a good friend of mine and she gifted it to my daughter who never wore it - so it’s basically original owner. But she actually told me she got this dress for her schools sweetheart dance in either the late 60’s to early 70’s (I don’t remember now).

poshmark_paige@danigirlbo77_ She went to a dress shop and had it tailored to fit so beautifully. It is so perfectly tailored, I’ve never seen anything like it. She wore it to that dance with her now husband, wore a sweet black & yellow hat and cute flats. I saw a pic once but it’s long gone, I think. Such a cute story. They’ve been together since then and are still madly in love 💜

poshmark_paige@minivanmeg thank you so much! Based on measurements I’d put it around a two or four, but I really wouldn’t want to assign a specific size to it. I think, unless someone is confidently that size, they should take their waist and bust measurements to be sure it will fit. it’s so, so pretty and the tailoring is one of the most amazing and special things I’ve seen in a long time!
