This is an iconic Marcel Boucher Poodle Dog pin cast and plated in gold. This collectible poodle has the cutest face! With his black beaded eyes and nose, sporting a collar on his neck, this poodle stands confident and proud. fully marked, in excellent condition. There is a pinhole just behind the top of the front leg as shown in pictures 6 and 7. This is a casting defect from when it was made. It is not damage to this pin. The factory released this because the defect does not detract from the overall characteristics of the pin. However, for full disclosure, I make note of this because I am offering this previously owned pin / brooch AS IS. This piece was made in the early 1960's a few years before this talented designer passed away in 1965. It is hallmarked and coded as are most Boucher jewelry pieces of this era.
Marcel Boucher began his career as a designer for Cartier. He was part of the creative team for Mazer Brothers Jewelry. He was lead designer for Avon of Belleville jewelry in Canada and later launched a prolific career of his own which included a stint in Taxco Mexico.
