Hi everyone. I recently came across a much more convincing fake than I’ve experienced before, and wanted to make a quick post. This fake had a size dot. Not only that, the style code on the dot actually matched the style of the legging (in this case, 25” Aligns). However there are still strong signs of a fake that were easy to detect. 1. The lululemon logo - slimmer/oblong, less negative space than the real thing. The omega is much chunkier on real Lululemon leggings. 2. The stitching - the fake had very sparse stitching that allowed you to still see the underlying fabric. Lululemon stitching is more reinforced/layered. 3. The size dot - darker gray font than the authentic version, and you can always see a clear ring around the size dot on the real thing. The fake is clearly peeling, and doesn’t have that ring. Other signs of fakes: •On Aligns, the horizontal seam on the back is a deeper, more exaggerated v-shape (photo 10) •The rip tag - There are now more styles of rip tags with new releases, so it can be harder to keep up with what they should look like. However, if you ever see accent punctuation anywhere in “lululemon athletica”, especially on the very last “a”, or SPANDEX listed in the materials section: REPORT and RUN. •Card tags - attached to the rip tag (photo 11) instead of the hip seam, misspellings, style or color on tag not matching the item, etc. •If the seller won’t post photos of the card tag/size dot, be wary! I hope that this helps! Please share 🙂

alleggs HI for Lululemon sport bras can the size dot have numbers on it or does that mean it is a fake
Sep 04Reply
savannahhi
savannahhi @alleggs What do you mean? Sports bra size dots can range from just the size number in the middle to the a size number with the extra coding around it.

alleggs i was looking on posh and i found one for 10$ but the size dot says 601187W2AIBXH does that mean its a fake bc it does not say spandex

johnsmomma
johnsmomma Thanks for adding this for the Posh buyers! Let me add that the way the fabric is buckled by the back waistband seam is another sign to look out for. When a seller does not add the front of the cardboard photo or says there is no size dot be suspicious. I also block anyone who sells counterfeits without disclosure to make sure I don’t buy from someone who would cheat others!!!

chancelynsy
chancelynsy @savannahhi what if there is no numbers besides the size on the size dot? total fake then?
Feb 03Reply
savannahhi
savannahhi @chancelynsy The oldest version of the size dot had only the size number, so it’s most likely just an old Lululemon item.
Feb 03Reply
chancelynsy
chancelynsy @savannahhi thank you, I wasn't sure. I'm at a second hand store with lots of lulu but I'm having a hard time with real and fake. I'm putting style numbers from the size dot into the website but some things aren't coming up with any results.

tkramo613 Thank you for this post! Any way to tell if a festival bag is fake?
Apr 18Reply
savannahhi
savannahhi @tkramo613 I personally haven’t seen a fake Festival bag yet, but the content and format on tags should be a giveaway. Happy to look at any listings too if you have one in particular you’re looking at.

dumbfb17
dumbfb17 @savannahhi is there a way that I could send you a photo of my lululemon sonic pink belt bag to see if you think it’s authentic? I just bought it off poshmark but I feel the zipper looks lighter. Everything else looks fine. I noticed it said made in Vietnam and not Indonesia. It was brand new in the plastic. If I can I would like you to look at it for your opinion.
May 20Reply
savannahhi
savannahhi @dumbfb17 Sure, you can tag me on the listing you purchased
May 20Reply
dumbfb17
dumbfb17 The only thing is it was different she only used stock photos. That’s when I questioned the tag and she told me tags can be different with where they manufacture. The one on the listing shows sonic pink abbreviation but mine is wrote out. My string that attached the tag is white but doesn’t look the same
May 20Reply
savannahhi
savannahhi @dumbfb17 If “Sonic Pink” is written out fully on the price tag with the barcode, it’s probably fake. Lululemon only ever lists the four character colors codes.
May 20Reply
dumbfb17
dumbfb17 Will it let you delete my comment where I posted I bought it from?
May 20Reply
dumbfb17
dumbfb17 Thanks so much. I didn’t want to tag them in it I didn’t want them to know I questioned it. I would just rather pay more and the high price right now for a real one than get a fake. It’s so weird everything on the bag seems and hardware looks identical to my other belt bags that I bought from the actual lululemon store.
May 20Reply
dumbfb17
dumbfb17 I want to show you pics but I don’t know how to post them.
May 20Reply
savannahhi
savannahhi @dumbfb17 Make a listing with the photos, but set the Availability as “Not For Sale”. Yes, belt bag fakes have gotten extremely good, but they always get the tags wrong.
May 20Reply
dumbfb17
dumbfb17 @savannahhi got It. I’ll include lots of photos so you can see the detail. I really appreciate this.
May 20Reply
savannahhi
savannahhi @dumbfb17 Of course, I’m happy to help!
May 20Reply
dumbfb17
dumbfb17 @savannahhi ok I think I got it up now
May 20Reply
savannahhi
savannahhi @dumbfb17 It’s definitely convincing, but the tags in photo 5 tell me it’s fake. On the price tag specifically, having the color spelled out and the fact that there’s no “W” in the style code above the color. All women’s items will have a “W” towards the beginning of the style code (and “M” on men’s items).
May 20Reply
dumbfb17
dumbfb17 I know that’s what I thought too. Do you feel the zipper part on top is lighter than a true sonic pink belt bag. I have never seen one in real life only photos
May 20Reply
dumbfb17
dumbfb17 I called lululemon too and didn’t get anywhere because they can’t see it but they did say they wouldn’t go by the tag since they come from different manufacturers and they said the tag could’ve fell off and they Made a new one.
May 20Reply
savannahhi
savannahhi @dumbfb17 It could be lighter. I’m not super familiar with the new plastic zippers. Also I find that a lot of Lululemon employees are honestly not that knowledgeable on the counterfeit market and signs of fakes. Resellers and collectors are much more well-versed. You can also post on the lululemon subreddit. There are a ton of us on there that have a lot of knowledge about the small details in counterfeits.

khall360
khall360 I’m brand new to Lululemon bags and just purchased the city adventurer bag in submarine on here. Now I’m worried . Bag hasn’t arrived yet but the seller had tons of sales
Mar 28Reply
savannahhi
savannahhi @khall360 It’s most likely fine, I haven’t seen a ton of backpack replicas. Just make sure to check it over thoroughly before accepting.
Mar 28Reply
khall360
khall360 @savannahhi it’s the belt bag ,but I definitely will! Their page they have alot of lulu and lots of multiples of the same items .
Mar 28Reply
savannahhi
savannahhi @khall360 Oh, the larger belt bag, not the backpack. Most likely fine, that’s not a super popular bag, so I don’t imagine there’s a huge market for faking them. Forgot the belt bag existed for that style lol
Mar 29Reply
khall360
khall360 @savannahhi 😆 got it ! I’m typically a baggu person so I wouldn’t know . It was the bigger size that I liked ! And the color. Thanks so much !
