This is a hand made wool and linen cable knit sweater, made by me. The condition is new. No blemishes whatsoever. It boasts ragland sleeves and a full button front. The neckline is wide. It is shaped and lays nice and flat. There are cables of different sizes everywhere! Cuffs and bottom edge are ribbed The YARN is 70% wool, 30% linen (flax) from France (only the best yarn for a sweater of this difficulty). It took 6 months to finish. You'll find it to be soft and squishy to the touch. This piece would make an exceptional gift! It is one-of-a-kind and simply elegant. The color is oatmeal. Uses: Fall and Winter wear, as a cardigan or a jacket. dmarie4670 This cardigan is beautiful. Could you please tell me if there is “stretch” in the cuffs and bottom hem? This can be hand washed in cold and dried flat? Any itchiness? Thank you so much.

pdufault120 @dmarie4670 Thank you for inquiring. The cuffs and bottom hem are very stretchy, and the overall feel of the sweater is luxurious, spun from fine wool softened with linen. I don't consider it scratchy at all, but full of plush body. I hope this helps.

pdufault120 Yes, hand washing is recommended in cold water with a gentle liquid soap like Eucalan. Wrap in a towel or 2 and gently squeeze to get rid of some of the moisture. Repeat. Then carefully reshape and lay the sweater on more dry towels, away from any direct heat source. The sweater is l very heavy when wet so care must be taken to not let it stretch out of shape. I washed it this way once and it turned out perfect.

pdufault120 I spent the morning researching the topic of dry cleaning handmade wool sweaters. The consensus is" No". The chemicals used in the process can be harmful to the wool fibers. Eucalan is a No-Rinse soak that adds lanolin back into the yarn, leaving it soft and plush. Eucalan comes unscented and in 3 lightly scented varieties (lavender, eucalyptus, and 1 other I forgot. The only thing I’m having to really consider is the bottom measurement of the sweater, worried it might be a bit snug at the hips- but am considering it. pdufault120 @dmarie4670 The stretched bottom edge measurement is 28". This sweater has a ton of stretch everywhere., one of the advantages of using quality yarn.
