@kathewarner52 Hi, the circumference of the boot opening/thigh area at the top is approximately 23.5 inches. This style is also the wide version of this boot. They are also available in 'regular' sizing - the size 9 of the 'regular' sizing has an approximate 19.5 boot opening circumference
