I tried an 8 that fit at bottom but could not get close to zipping up at top. Would 12 be too big at bottom? I think one size up would not work at top.

@sking1 I'm normally a 10 in Lilly and this fit quite a bit bigger than a 10. Bigger than my assumption for just going up one size if that makes sense.
