Antique 1901 Sterling Silver & Enamel Shield Pin Armed Forces Red Cross Lion

Antique, with normal wear. The pin is bent, but it & the latch functions well still. Marked, Reg’d 1901 & sterling. Pin is enamel & solid sterling. It’s sturdy. It depicts a Red Cross, lion & shaped like a shield with a cross on top. Possibly some kind of armed force? If you know, please leave me a message in the comments. I appreciate it!
