Orange Enamel Awareness Ribbon Pin and Donation to FPWR Canada

May is Prader-Willi Syndrome Awareness month!!! I am selling 17 Orange Prader-Willi Syndrome awareness pins in memory of my son Oliver. These pins are silver tone with orange enamel. Oliver was born premature at just under 32 weeks. He was only 2lbs at birth and had a very long road ahead. Ollie was diagnosed with Prader-Willi Syndrome at 3 months old while in the NICU. He passed away due to complications before his 5 month birthday. When PWS babies are born they are labeled "failure to thrive". This is due to low birth weight and even lower muscle tone. PWS involves the hypothalamus, the gland which regulates hormones in children and adults. Between the ages of 2 and 8 PWS children will develop an insatiable appetite and they will never feel satiated. They will struggle with their hunger for life, this on top of behavior problems, physical development delays and infertility just to name a few symptoms. PWS is a complex disease and no 2 cases are exactly alike. I encourage everyone to please learn about this disease, and if you can, make a donation to the Foundation for Prader-Willi Research or FPWR Canada. All proceeds from the sale of these pins will be donated to FPWR Canada. I will also donate the 20% deducted for posh fees (out of pocket)
